Lictor with Ethreal Interception rule?

Was reading the Necrons forum and came apon this rule. I was wondering if this should have been a Lictor rule? Espically D/S and shooting in your oppoents phase? Yes no assaulting but it seems more like a Lictor rule.

So what do you guys think? Ok, lets not argue or debate if Necrons can shoot in the oppents phase, that is not what this is intended, but just bored, and wondering what you guys and gals think of the Lictor having this rule.

If not this rule, what about another rule that already exsits in 40K? If not then, how about your own rule. What would you like to see for the Lictor? Deathleaper?

I think lictors should have at least the assassins rules on grey knights (with greater volume of attacks, lower strength, and rending) that would make sense.

Or lictors could do something like ygenes/ deathmark hybrid, nominate an enemy and when they come in from reserves, place them in CC, units in vehicles, assault the vehicle.

You could also give them infiltrate and the ability to start on the table, alongside stealth/shrouded... That would be nice... Starting on the table...

Considering that fluff wise, Lictors are just hiding on the board, they should be able to assault the turn they arrive from reserves. Without that they are effectively just sitting ducks for most anything to kill.

Also give them the ability to use their Pheromone Trail on the same turn they arrive and that would balance it out alot.

Lictors used to be my least favourite unit in the codex (yes even lower than pyros...), but I've recently used them and come to like some of their abilities.

My Main issue with Lictors (as well as Zoanthropes) is that we can no longer take the 0-3 allowed in the brood, but deploy seperately. This may not be a big issue for others, but I feel it's the biggest hit they took. I can deal with the drawbacks of not starting on the board and the other issues they have. I just want to be able to use them as the disruption unit they are meant for. Lictors are solitary creatures (fluffwise). Yes, they've taked some nerf hits, but they are still useable and as I recently found, Deathleaper is pretty awesome. I realize in a group of 3 they have more hitting power and the potential to be a serious threat to larger/stronger targets.

A unit of three deployed individually has much more potential to disrupt the enemy: They are still a threat with their high strength and hit and run capabilities, as well as being able to assault into cover (they can do this right?...I can't remember for sure). However when deployed seperately they can now threaten multiple targets as well as the fact that now they have to be targeted individually. IMO having this ability (which they used to have) would balance out the factors counting against them. They would neither be overpowered, nor will they no longer be underpowered by some of the other drawbacks as they will have more utility and won't get blasted away before they any of them can do anything. This would make them worth their hefty points cost.

So the one rule I would want the Lictors to have is the ability to be taken as one slot in the FOC but deployed seperately.

Also, I'm not familiar with the Necron rule you're talking about....could someone enlighten me?

The Necron rule is called Ethreal Interception. Basically when your opponent D/S, you can also choose to have your Necron Deathmark D/S in your opponents turn.

Lictors and carnifexen are the only tyranids with assault grenades. Carnifex with cluster spines and lictors with flesh hooks (which aren't assault grenades but function like them.

Thanks, I knew canifex had them, but couldn't remember about lictors. Like I said, I'm still fairly new to using them because they've never really appealed to me. I decided to try them out a little while ago and they worked pretty well.

Harpies also have assault grenade equivalents.
