Hello all,
I have been away from WH40k for about a year, but before that, I had been playing since 1996. I knew I couldn't stay away forever, and now that I'm back, I wanted to play Tyranids again. After scanning the Internet for several days, I have found that this site is the best for Tyranid players of all ages, and skill levels. I thought I'd post a list that would be suitable for 6th edition, as it would seem that it is a very shooting-oriented format. This list may be typical Godzilla, but I thought I'd offer my strategies to the units I chose.

HQ
Tervigon w/ Cluster Spines - Catalyst
Tervigon w/ Cluster Spines - Catalyst
***Pretty standard HQ choice since the most recent book was released, but I didn't want to give them too many upgrades. Just the ones necessary to support the rest of the army. Catalyst will help the units in the front lines survive longer.***
Troops
Termagant Brood of 10
Termagant Brood of 10
Termagant Brood of 10
Tervigon w/ Cluster Spines - Toxin Sacs
Tervigon w/ Cluster Spines - Toxin Sacs
Tervigon w/ Cluster Spines - Toxin Sacs
***Again, pretty standard, but these Tervigons are used to help support the Termagants if they need to attack units attempting to seize objectives. The Termagants and Tervigons should be used to blitz objectives, going straight for them to secure and hold them.***
Elites
Brood of 2 Hive Guard
Brood of 2 Hive Guard
Brood of 2 Hive Guard
***I haven't decided whether or not to make these 2 units of 3, or keep them as 3 units of 2. These are my light-vehicle destroyers, and again, are pretty standard.***
Heavy Support
Mawloc
Mawloc
Mawloc
***These are what may separate my list from the normal Godzilla lists. Mawlocs are fantastic for the points if used properly, and in my opinion, have much better utility than Trygons or Trygon Primes. The main targets for these are enemy tanks with higher armor, units attempting to stay in or behind cover, or units with fantastic armor saves. Many players believe that the Mawloc is a waste of points, but in my hands, they will do great things.***
Also, I thought I'd give some reasons as to why I chose a few things. While advancing forward toward objectives, I feel that Cluster Spines are great for whittling down opposing forces during the turns just prior to engaging them. I don't plan on killing much with this attack, but having 5 of these, plus having the 3 Mawlocs exploding on units from underground, will surely do some damage. The units that want to assault me, or get their small arms fire into range, should be a lot smaller, and more easily handled. If my opponent's front-line units are down to even 50% of their starting strength, I can throw a few Termagants at them, and either tie them up, or polish them off. This also helps the Mawlocs in hand-to-hand if they want to help due to their low number of attacks.
I hope my list hasn't been posted, or is a copy of someone else's list. If it is, please let me know, and give credit to the person that this list mimics. This is my first post on this site, so be kind.
Thank you for your time,
TP
P.S. For those of you that remember posting on other sites back in the day, my name on those forums was BloodAnglesBrotherKalibroxin, and was good friends with BloodAngelBrotherEdward. Just a mention.
