spirit leech question and cover question.

It may have allready be answered but I could not find it sorry..

rules in 6th edition have changed offcourse.

One of those is that wounds and attacks are no longer capped at 10 (as described at page 2)

Does this mean the doom can keep sucking out more brains and get more then 10 wounds?

The codex does say that the maximum is 10 wounds for the spirit leech but is that al it can have in total, or the total it can suck out at once, or the total extra (so it would have a maximum of 14?)

I think it would be just the 10 max, but this may be changed in the next errata.

owh and the other thing I just can't seem to understand is the hive guard and cover saves against there shots..

it is adressed multiple times, but I still can't figure it out (can come because English is not my first language)

I keep reading on the forum that it negates most cover saves
But when I read it, it says you get cover if the terrain is between the attacker and the defender, which is like always the case right, because if a enemy is in cover, that cover lies between him and the attacker..

The Doom can never have more than 10 Wounds. It still follows the old Rules, essentially.

Opposing Models can only take Cover Saves against Hive Guard if the source of the Cover Save is between them and the Hive Guard AND they are either in or touching the Cover. So if there are some Fire Warriors directly behind an Aegis Defense Line, with their bases touching it, they can take a Cover Save against the Hive Guard. But if they're half an inch back from it, they get no Cover, even tho it's still in between them and the Hive Guard.

I'll have to double check, but I'm 90% sure you only get cover saves if your in or touching area terrain. ADL is NOT area terrain ever.

It just says "cover" in my copy of the Dex. The FAQ specifies "terrain" rather than "cover", but doesn't go all the way to "area terrain".
