General Tyranid Tatics (Advice for the rippers)

Maybe there is already one if so I apologise. I would like to start a thread about different Army builds, what to run, why to run them?

This is for compition army builds. I am starting this in hopes that there is more effective builds then just Tervizilla.
This is a request and hopefully a thread that helps many people maybe even gets pinned if we do this right.

We did have one before called 'tyranid formations' that had core elements of different builds and explained how certain units work together.

I don't have time right now but if someone else doesn't list a few I'll do some later.

I think more important than the perfect list though, is knowing the rules and knowing the mission. So many games now come down to careful objective placement and secondary objectives such as first blood.

Players starting out should learn the game with models/units they like, THEN try out the 'better' units, if they don't already have them.

I think it might behoove us to wait a bit, so we have some time to see how the various ideas actually play out in real games over time.

There seems to be three main tatical army builds that I have seen.
1) Shooty defensive= the idea is to hold objectives and mix of anti-infantry and heavy weapons.
2) Psyic= As many Broodlords, hive tyrants and zoanthropes.
3) Assualt= Target just troops ignore objectives and just go after First Blood, Slay the Warlord, and Line Breaker. Mostly flying units and character killers.

4)Monsterous Creatures. Take a unit or two or termigaunts to get tervigons as troops, Tyrants, trygons, and mawlocs, Haries would be the last pck for this list if you have points

I'm running a Hybrid (see signature)... Plenty of T6, some T4, psychic powers, wild card, mobility and durability. Turn 2 Vanguard strike kind of army, with hopefully enough durability and luck to endure the counter attack.
