Right, well this has been stuck up on another forum already (just guess), but I reckoned I'd stick it up here as well, get a wider audience and a second opinion. It's meant to be competitive, but not in the standard way. By that I mean no Vulkan, no Hammernators etc. The fluff of my Chapter dictates that no special ICs, no bikes (attack bikes are fine though) and no Terminators and Land Raiders can be used in this particular list.
So here it is:
HQ
Librarian Tempestus w/ force sword, Null Zone, Gate = 100
Elites
Sternguard Squad Zarv: 8 Sternguard w/ 3x combi-meltas, power fist = 245
Troops
Tactical Squad Aravik: 10 Marines w/ combi-plasma, plasma gun, multi-melta, Rhino = 225
Tactical Squad Riklir: 10 Marines w/ combi-melta, meltagun, plasma cannon, Rhino = 225
Scout Squad Saephus: 5 Scouts w/ Telion, 3x sniper rifles, missile launcher = 135
Fast Attack
2x Attack Bikes w/ multi-meltas = 100
2x Land Speeders w/ Typhoon missile launchers = 180
Stormtalon w/ Typhoon missile launcher = 155
Heavy Support
Devastator squad Tatovrai: 5 Marines w/ 4x missile launchers = 150
Vindicator w/ dozer blade = 120
Vindicator w/ dozer blade = 120
Total = 1750pts
So that's it. Sternguard footslog with Libby to get the most out of their boltguns and his powers, which aren't as easy to cast in a Rhino now. Tacticals hold objectives and act as hard counters to things the Sternguard aren't so great against, the Scouts hold objectives. Bikes are fast melta, Speeders, Stormtalon and Devs are long-range fire support. The Vindicators are close fire support, bullet magnets and anti-everything.
So what do you guys think? I've been thinking about taking a Rhino for the Sternguard, just to get them into a good position faster and make it easier to reposition and protect them. I'm lacking in combat a bit, normally I use Honour Guard, but I can't make them work without a Land Raider (my fluff allows one Land Raider, but I only have a Redeemer, which my fluff doesn't allow here).
