Question on Consolidation

This may sound like a ridiculous question and I realize that back in 5th edition you could not consolidate against vehicles, but was that a specific ruling or just inferred?

I'm wondering because it seems it might now be possible in 6th edition. Due to some rule changes i.e. vehicles having either WS1 or WS0 based on if they moved or not and hull points being lost in close combat seeming to work like wounds lost in close combat (preferred enemy working for penetration rolls) it seems that it might be possible to consolidate as long as you cause at least a glancing hit.

Could you hit & run? Can wrecking balls prevent this by dealing wounds to the attacking squad?

in 5th it explicitly said there was no consolidation move against non-walker vehicles. page 63, at the top.

i dunno about 6th, i bought it early, but am getting into it late. let me check the rulebook and dig a bit.

You dont consolidate vs. Vehicles (cept walkers). pg 76 top right , in Bold.
