Hi there, my synapse bros. Tomorrow I'm going against Eldar for 1500. It will be first game with 6th rules for my opponent... it will be second game for me at all. So I'd really appreciated some advices against space high elves. To be honest, I don't expect to win, just want to put a good fight and test some units to understand, if they are worth purchasing/converting.
So, I got all the models I have (what is about 1k), and found proxies for everything else (my opponent is okay with that), so list may sound a bit strange:
== HQ ==
Tyranid Prime (1) - Deathspitter, Lash Whip And Bonesword, Toxin Sacs, Regeneration = 120 pts.
The Parasite of Mortrex (1) = 160 pts. (love this guy, low eldar toughness=>more rippers);
== Elites ==
Ymgarl Genestealer Brood (8) = 184 pts.
Hive Guard Brood (3) = 150 pts. (for mech/flying mech)
Pyrovore Brood (190 pts.) I know no one likes them, but I'm still trying to find the way for them to work properly;
Pyrovore (3) = 135 pts.
Mycetic Spore (1) - Barbed Strangler = 55 pts.
== Troops ==
Hormagaunt Brood (16) - AG, Toxin Sacs = 160 pts.
Termagant Brood (16) - Spike Rifle = 96 pts.
Broodlord Brood (199 pts.)
Broodlord (1) - Scything Talons, Toxin Sacs, Implant Attack = 80 pts.
Genestealer (7) - Toxin Sacs = 119 pts.
== Fast Attack ==
Gargoyle Brood (15) - Toxin Sacs = 105 pts.
== Heavy Support ==
Biovore Brood (3) = 135 pts. (just in case)
== Total ==
1499 pts.
So, as you see, I minimized Psykers (a little paranoid about farseers, runes and such), there's only Broodlord, who can kick ass even without casting any spells. Also, there's no Monstrous Creatures, although I'd love to test them - I suppose high-initiatived Eldar will wipe them out in melee, and I saw some nasty Instant Death weapons, which scared me even more, than initiative. And there's just one stack of HG, although everyone take three.
So - do anyone with Eldar experience can give me a hand here? Personally, I'm still thinking about removing some specialists and increasing sheer numbers of Gaunts and Gargoyles, to overwhelm the enemy in Zerg style.
And excuse me for bad english, which is - sadly - not my first language.
