question concerning blasts vs. vehicles

hi there, looked through the BRB. i might be missing something but figured someone here will know. it is n00bish.

okay, i shoot a blast weapon at a vehicle:
1- does the center of the blast have to be center of the vehicle? or can it be placed anywhere on top as long as the entire hole of the marker is over the vehicle?

2- i read something about regardless of where the template lands, you always allocate it to the facing that is closest to the firer. not sure if that was a rule for barrage or regular blasts.

im essentially trying to figure out whether or not i can directly place a blast marker on the rear of a rhino for example, as long as it's within range and actually strike the back. thanks! cheers

1) The center hole has to be somewhere over the target Model. You can put it over toward the edge of the Base or Hull if you want, tho. Pg. 33.

2) For regular Blasts, you always treat it as tho it's coming from the location of the Firer, regardless of the final location of the Blast. Pg. 73.

Barrage Weapons are always resolved against Side Armour if they hit Vehicles, regardless of the position of the Firer or the final position of the Blast Marker. Pg. 34.

So no, you can't snipe Rear Armour like that, actually have to get around behind them.

Also remember this edition (assuming you were there last edition) blasts no longer hit at half strength for being off center.
