I kind of assumed they kept it since MCs had but alas it isn't mentioned under characters or ICs.

Only 1 model in the unit is needed to confer it to the rest so it doesn't hurt the prime in gants etc.

It does mean missing out on a Prime granting it to warriors though.

It's also giving me second thoughts about Eldrad in Harlequins, since they'd also be losing fleet!

can i ask, coming from a fellow eldar player, why have eldrad in Harls, if any thing Yriel, Eldrad doesn't fit with that fast combat style, Yriel does.

Because Eldrad brings psychic powers. Either vanilla, giving rerolls on the 2+ cover saves from shadowseer, rerolls to wound with doom, or just supporting your other units. Plus, runes of warding. For the price of Yriel, a kitted out Archon is strong competition.

MCs simply have 3d6 through cover then ignore it on the charge (i believe thats correct).


Archons are AP3. Yriel ignores armor and butchers vehicles. Eldrad is going to be fortuning himself already, and sticking him with harlequins makes it double duty. Also, harlies have stealth, shrouding, and 2d6x2 spotting range (read the FAQ with the rulebook in front of you). Yriel/Eldrad is still the best combo for HQ slots. Ran both with 2 full harlie squads and an archon with DE allies and did very well at a tourney this weekend. Only failed to win the tourney because players around me were telling me that you could only capture objectives in the movement phase, not by turbo boosting (thats for relics only).

Eldrad just walks around cover. You now roll independently for how fast ICs move in units so they are never slowed by the slowest unit anymore. If nothing else he can can congo lined in.

Sorry Zephoid but some of those rules are dubious.

MCs are still slowed by terrain when charging, like anything else.

If any model in a unit moves in terrain, the unit tests. That is how the rule is written.

Veil of tears in the FAQ, it says to replace the spotting rule with stealth/shrouded, not use both.

Eldrad also doesn't have fleet, so can be slowing down harlies, so I'm not sure anymore on how perfect he is. Weirdly, normal farseers do have fleet.

The advantages of Yriel are spot on though. Archon can take a blaster though and if AP2 is vital, *could* have a power axe. Would be a sham to lose that initiative though.

Just double checked the FAQ wording and they do seem to have used sentences when they meant paragraphs. That is pretty broken!

Jabber, re-read the harlequin FAQ with the codex in front of you (replace 2nd and 3rd sentences with stealth and shrouding). It does not replace the 2d6x2 spotting distance in either codex (4th sentence in eldar, 6th or something in DE). While moving is affected, Im pretty sure charging is based on individuals (dont have my codex at work). Power axe puts the archon at S4 so wounding on 4s. Why not take an agonizer that wounds on 4s and re-rolls wounds on T3. Only less effective vs armor 2. I still like S9 over S8 Lance with AP2. Most of the time you dont have to deal with LR front armor, its often dreds that you want yriel to deal with. Also, Yriel's Eye is still amazing. Harlequins with fortune can shrug off the damage (or if you have eldrad in there too, put all the wounds on eldrad with his 3++/3++).

I expect they will fix that in the next batch of FAQs but I guess for now it's there.

"if, when charging, 1 or more models move through terrain, the unit must take a difficult terrain test.." from the charging section.

If you kept Eldrad/any other IC way out of the terrain you'd be fine but the awkwardness will probably lose you the benefit of not just going through it.

Also, agonisers are not poison. They just always wound on a 4+. They have plenty of chance to refer to it as poison, especially with so many poison weps in the codex, but they don't. This means it doesn't get the re-rolls. Unless your Eldar friends doom for you or you get a good combat drugs roll.
