New dirty little trick (not Nid Specific)

While arguing Flyer spam with a friend talk turned to Gun Emplacements. He informed me that his Lascannons would make short work of them and that at worse it would just take all 3 shots from his Vandetta to kill one even with if it had a coversave from some thing like an Aegis line or Venomthrope.

So I said I would just FNP it.

So a flurry of rule book scanning and it looks like you can use Catalyst or Endurance to get FNP on a Gun Emplacement. If you use Endurance it can also regenerate wounds.

So that would greatly boost the survivablity of the only really reliable AA weapons. And it is nice and Niddy.

Yes... It is very niddy to use Tyranid psychic powers to make Imperial Gun emplacements even stronger. I totally see what you mean.

A truly fun little thing one could do... Can't see how you should not be able to do that. But ah well... It is 5AM and I probably should try to get some sleep.

Do gun emplacements count as a unit though ?

Buildings etc don't suffer wounds though, only hull points/damage results. FnP says it lets you roll when you suffer an unsaved wound.

Endurance would let you recover hull points though.

Gun Emplacements have Wounds, not Hull points.

The question about if they are units is still up in the air right now.

Yeah, they are terrain really. Not sure that would work.

That was pointed out on Dakka.

Still not sure, but as they are not listed in Appendex II they are probably not a unit. And it does state unit for both.
