Got my first game of 6th with the 1500pt list. I did a very long and complete write up and deleted it on accident...so probably not going to re-post.

Very basic summary:

Opponent was CSM.

Hammer and Anvil, Big Guns Never Tire, Game was a draw. Each side held two objectives, opponent got first blood, and I killed his warlord (khorne lord killed by terminator sergeant in a challenge).

We both had lots of fun. I am enjoying 6th.

My list does need lots of tweaks for this edition.

Also, did the rule change, or is this still supposed to be in the other gamesworkshop stuff section?

No, I didn't. It was a suggestion not a very well thought out suggestion, but a suggestion none the less.

And it's never been "always", I know it wasnt "always". Next to every thread of mine that wasn't tyranid related but was an army list was moved, and other peoples as well.

It's irrelevant though, so moving on: I don't know anything about marines list making. Good day ^_^

Im not a huge fan of melta on my already expensive typhoon speeders. I tend to hang back and launch missiles, or shift forward a little bit and shoot heavy bolters as well.

Is the landraider heavy support or a dedicated transport? Sometimes I take mine specificially as a heavy support and throw on a teleport homer...puttting the tac squad in the raider. Sometimes it messes with people if you can find the points:)

I have yet to play a game in this edition with my marines...the day is coming though!

But no, not interested in sisters allies. Just not a fan of the model line, nor of that pdf codex.

I like the typhoon with the melta, but that one is a personal preference. In general, I use it to hang back like you do. I often start them in reserves too, as they are fragile. MM comes in if opponent comes to me, or in the rare case missiles are destroyed (weapon destroyed). MMs often see use when I arrive from reserves and pop 3 AT shots at whatever as made it to my objectives.

Land Raider isn't dedicated. Big new reason is that heavy slots are scoring in 1/6 games. Dedicated transport Land Raider that's dedicated to an elites unit, is not a heavy support slot. Beyond that, it's a flexibility thing, as I can put any 12 guys in it (vanilla LRs hold 12).

I need a 1250pt list for sunday, for an newb learning exercise at our local store (like a free, low competition event for learning 6th). Allies are allowed, but it's 1250pts, so not much room. Special characters are not allowed, seems to be a re-occurring thing at this local shop's events. Still, for learning, not having to face special characters is probably a headache preventative.

I'll get a 1250pt list up ASAP.
