So while I was looking through Imperial Armour 2nd Edition , I noticed the Spore Chimneys and Capillary Towers which it said to reference IA Vol.4 - Anphelion Project for and found some awesome stuff.
Spore Chimneys and Capillary towers block LOS and may not be passed over by jump units or skimmers. You can have 1 SC and 1-3 CT, each being 25 points. They are placed in addition to the regular terrain so you can get even more cover.
If you have 3 Capillary Towers, the entire board is under the effect of SiTW but without perils.
With a Spore Chimney, if you roll a 6 at the start of your turn it spawns 2d6 Spore Mines in up to 3 groups that scatter from the center of the SC. If it is ever hit by a non-Tyranid scatter it immediately spawns 2d6 Spore Mines.
Since IA 2nd Ed. is so new and everyone now has the option to buy Forts, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to use this terrain. The Spore Chimney would be awesome for covering a side from outflanking and helping defend an objective, not to mention being big enough to give cover to any unit we have. The Capillary towers would be brutal against psyker heavy armies.
IA 4 also outlines Brood Nests which can be purchased by units of Genestealers, Termagants, Hormagaunts, Rippers or Spore Mine Clusters. The Brood Nest has Infiltrate and the unit attached to it deploys from reserves within 6" of the BN, may shoot but not assault on turn it arrives. It's cost is equal to 3x the wounds it is attached to, has t5 w3 s5+ and if destroyed before the unit is deployed it must enter from you board edge. 20 points to infiltrate 20 Devgaunts? Yes please!
