Hmmmmm what to use? FW or new Tyrant?

I am finally going to be able to pick up the FW winged HT. Now the question is, what to use? Do I use the FW or do I pick up the new plastic HT and use it since it has the nice tail effect and doesn 't look like it's walking?

Getting so excited for 6th edition, I am finally going to get my Tyranids ready for it.

So what should it be? FW or the new plastic Flyrant?

I have both and I prefer the plastic one but it's a personal choice really.

Plastic... just because you get so many bits with it for converting and the dynamic pose is awesome...

I like the giant warrior look of 3rd edition, Forgeworld.

I think you should read through the rulebook before deciding really. You never know if we'll still have to protect our Tyrant with a screen of gargoyles to make sure it won't die in a blink of an eye. If the new 6th edition rulebook doesn't punish the players for how the sculptors have posed the models, well then I think you should just choose the one that you like the most.

If 6th edition will continue to make Flyrants die faster than you could possibly say Dorito, then go with the FW Tyrant. You should at least be able to provide it with a screen of Gargoyles. (If that even works with FW Tyrants... I think it does).

I personally prefer the look of the new plastic one, but that's just me. Also bear in mind that it comes with more options, as many have said, including Swarmlord. Some good magnetizing and you've got a ton of options there.

That said, I do have the FW one and LOVE it.

Thanks guys for your comments. I wanted a FW HT for so long, I think I will get that one for now. Rules be damned. That would suck if we have to suffer because of how big or small a mini is, since they are not costed into the price.

So I think I will go with FW and get the plastic one later. I will go with the guys who say they love theirs since I didn't hear any complaints from them from the actual owners.

. Now I hope I can do it justice in painting it.

The forgeworld one is THE EPITOMY of tyranid as far as I'm concerned. I cherish and love mine!

The new plastic one has been Finecast, and metal before that. It's the only real Hive Tyrant, as far as I'm concerned.

It also has the advantages of being plastic so it's easier to put together, not Forgeworld so it's unlikely to be a miscast lump of (please do not swear), and has options so you can magnetize it.

That said, buy what you want, and don't bother trying to get other people to validate your choices.
