Question about Malwoc rule

So, I am new to the 'nids. And I love the idea of the Malwoc. I read in the FAQ that cover saves can be made against the come up from the gound attack (can't remember the name at the moment).

Does this mean I can use the movement (deep strike) in area terrain?

Yes, but you could always deepstrike into area terrain.

But things that Deep Strike into Difficult Terrain treat it as Dangerous Terrain. So each model must roll a d6 and if a 1 comes up takes a wound against which neither armour nor cover saves may be taken, but invuls can (rolled individually model by model, no wound allocation here).

thats what I thought. Was not sure about the Dangerous terrain since it is bursting up from the ground.

Seems like it would be worth it though.

Models in cover will still get a cover save against the Terror from the Deep large blast marker. The actual S6 AP2 hit is nice, but it's not great compared to the auto-casualty if you can prevent a model from moving off of the blast marker after the hit.

Incidentally, it's "Mawloc". I think the notion was to call it a "Moloch", as in the ancient phoenician practice of child-sacrifice (and latterly a pejorative term meaning "child-eater"), but a phonetic spelling was used to sell the notion of its maw to people that don't get the dog-latin used in the Tyranid naming scheme.

You mean like Harpy? Or Lictor? Or Carnifex?

I imagine they wanted to name them Morlocks - like the fictional subterranean species created by H. G. Wells for his 1895 novel, The Time Machine.
