War Shout, worth the points?

I play Eldar howling banshees, I take my exarch with War Shout (enemy takes a leadership test, if they fail their WS is reduced). I have noticed an extremely high level of leaderships stats in my games over the last week, with War Shout working less than 20% of the time. It is a cheap power, but even at cheap cost is it worth it? Anyone have any thoughts(I actualy have 2 units of 5 banshees in my army generaly, so two exarchs going, if that influences anyones thoughts.)

It is only 5 pts. And even at Ld 10, there is a 1/12 chance it will work.
If it works, you hit on 3's, and they hit on 5's.
Seem worth it to me, unless you are really hurting for those pts.

OTOH, 5 seems like a pretty fragile unit.

five is pretty fragile I can take out that in a turn of shooting then again i use defilers alot but it is a fairly alright power i mean if your against marines and five points isn't too bad for what you get

If you have the spare points, then War Shout is certainly worth considering.

Fielding a small squad of Banshees is acceptable if they are to be transported in a Falcon. I assume that you are fielding 5 regular Banshees and an Exarch for a total of 6 models, which is the transport capacity of the Falcon.

Shiro is right. I have 2 units fo 5 banshees because each is joined by a HQ (one a farseer one an autarch) and each rides inside a falcon tank, so in reality they are extremely hard to keep out of a charge. But no argument that, that is a small unit. I'll keep the war shout in their, just wondering what people's thoughts were. Doom, mirror sowrds on your exarch and banshees are bad news for almost any unit they hit., a Failed test on war shout is almost certain destruction.

I've never considered using an Autarch with Banshees, however I could see it being quite effective. Personally I love swooping hawks and only having 7 (including one exarch) means I can use an Autarch to increase the squad size.

Yeah, I like warshout, the yummy stuff it does to those elite high WS assault troops is amusing and I think its a lot better than acrobatic, so I'd take it every time

Thanks people, good advice! I have the old Jain Zar figure, but do not use Jain Zar, so use it as my Autarch. It lets me use a really cool model i feel i have painted very well, without throwing a massive amount of points into one "win the game" style model. A howling banshee exarch is really cheap, power sword, banshee mask, done.
And talk about a top heavy model, sheesh, I had to weight mine down with an oversized base just to make it usable.

I found the best way to balance Jain Zar is to remove her from the metal tab, then pin her directly into the base. My bases mimic mountainous terrain so there is a little extra height to allow for a really solid pin to be inserted. If you are still having trouble then a two part builders epoxy putty (kneadit is good) under the base will add more weight.

Thanks Shiro, in fact i had done a similiar thing with modeling clay, I like your idea though.
