"I can't speak for the rest of us but I don't want one. The Emperor has never done anything for me or a lot of the miners here. Faith really doesn't help when a piece of debris has smashed your faceplate in or you've been spaced. Keep them. Hell maybe the more you have on you the more luck you'll have." Artyom laughed at the thought of the priestess covered head to toe in the golden pins. "There's a thought. If you're covered in those then maybe the light from them will blind the green-skins. Hahah- *hack* cough*" Artyom started coughing hard, "I really need to change those filters when we get back." He would have spat but his helmet stopped that.

"Anyways were the section B diggers. I'm Artyom the oldest. Nearly five thousand days logged on this sad sack of a station. Our group of five is down two right now. Meat is late as usual and I don't know where Vex's old man is but ill introduce you to the people here." Artyom pointed to the muscular man. "That's Steve, or skinny as we call him. He's only been here a year, was supposed to be six months. Speaking of which. How the hell did you manage to get the captain to put you in charge? I'm really surprised that you know the area that well? Have you been sneaking out after work to go look at the scenery or something?" Artyom then pointed to the youngest of the group. "And that's Victor or Vex as we call him. Youngest here but he knows his way around the place. Came here with his.... Hey vex where is your father? He's part of section B but I haven't seen him all day."

Lilith nodded to everyone. ''I'm lilith. I was actually Born on the station. But i'm not leadership material... So i cant lead you around.'' She smiled warmly. ''Also, I cant drive, so 'll need to sit on the back of one of your bikes. Hopeflly thats not a problem...'' She muttered a silent prayer to the emperor that the others would see past her many shortcomings.

[Major Chrispy]

"I don't know where the old man is, went missing shortly after the orks were reported." Vex looked towards Lilith, "...And you, today could be a day to show us what your made of!"

Vex sits on the bike and starts the engine. With a puff from the exaust pipe the engine roared, like an enraged daemon. "The slow b*stard needs to hurry up! Or I'm going to get bored!"

Skinny, opened his locker revealing a burnt orange suit with hunter green armor scales over the thicker sections. He pulled the suit over his head, making sure to seal all of the connections. Out of his suit skinny was an average man but in the suit he was more than just a man. The armor scales overlapped on his chest, shoulders, thighs and knees. His oxygen tank had been custom fitted to the suit making it smaller and lighter than the average space suit. Skinny stretched and twisted testing the mobility of his suit, pleased he turned to his equipment rack.

Skinny took his knife and strapped it to his shoulder for easy access, then strapping his emergency pack on his waist directly behind him. Skinny then attacked plasma cutter holster to the armor on his right thigh. reaching into the corner of the rack skinny took and link of operation flares and attached them to his waist above his left leg. Finally he reached back into the locker taking hold of his helmet. Closing the locker skinny walked towards the air lock before the garage.

Skinny looked down at his fitted helmet, the smooth metal surface perfect except for the sensor stripes that ran across the face like 3 long eyes. Pushing the helmet over his head the air tight seal hissed as connection was made. The blackness inside the helmet turned into a blue screen with a view of his front and back and both sides. Those looking at his face would only be staring at the now glowing green sensor strips.

The air released pressure and opened it's doors to the garage, where the other were already waiting. Lilith held up a charm on a gold string silently asking if he wanted it. Skinny reached out his hand and grasped the chain, placing it over his head so it hung around his neck skinny nodded in gratitude.

"So how'd you get in charge anyways?" some one asked.

Without turning to see the voices owner, skinny replied "my record speaks for itself, ok enough talk lets get moving it's 3 hours to the impact site." climbing aboard one bike skinny started it up. The exhaust vents rattled with the initial start then settled into a soft hum, looking back to group who similarily had started up their bikes skinny said "lets go."

At that he hit throttle practically jumping out of the garage in the crash sites direction.

OOC: remember we still haven't met the tyranids.

"HELL YEAH!!! LET'S ROLL!!!" Vex yells, his shout going into the party coms. The sound of the engine dampend as it warmed up...boring! Stamping his heel onto the muffler the bikes engine roared, drowning out the complaints of his companions as he shot off after skinny. It didn't matter who was with them no one knew this place better then he did...

Naulo accepted their new mission with a dutiful nod to the captain. But he was seething inside at one of the newest miners being the expedition leader. He swallowed his pride as he walked off, reasoning that the captain had a point, 'skinny' had been one of the only miners to venture out far enough in that direction recently and so would have better knowledge of the current environmental hazards.

When he reached his locker he quickly used the follicle de-activation spray to prevent any unwanted facial hair over the few day's they would be out on the scouting mission. He flexed his left arm, tentatively touching a recent wound that was still healing. He yawned and slipped on his UHS. Its armourplas scales twisted into place around his form and the carapace plating on his chest, arms, legs and back creaked slightly as they adjusted themselves.
The gloves clasped tightly like a liquid surface on his hands. He pulled on his heavy duty grav boots and locked the mag-clasps. After placing his helmet over his head and locking in the coupling cable, the whole thing hissed as it clamped around his neck with hydraulic action. His HUD sparked into life with a blue and white flash and all his vitals appeared as well as a small map and various other bits of information. He then grabbed his pack of Proximity mines, holstered his officers laspistol gently and then unlocked the stasis-crate containing his personal grenade launcher. This he strapped over his back and wore the additional ammunition on sturdy rubber belts across his chest.

He made his way to the departure room, to see that most of the group assigned the task were already there. Lilith was bearing some small aquilla charms. When offered one, Naulo shurgged
"Sure, why not. If the Emperor doesn't protect, the who does?" He hung the pendant around his neck inside his UHS and re-placed his helmet. "Everyone ready?" He asked "Skinny, you lead the way"

[Esiphas]

Lilith nodded to Naulo, then questioned Skinny. ''Hopefully you don't mind, but i'll hitch a ride with you. Your the thinnest, so a litle extra weight on your bike won't slow you down. Andi Can definately wrap my arms right round you.'' She slipped on the seat behind him and slipped her arms under his, holding on tight. She wasn't looking forward to the drive. She preffered being inside one of the God Emperors Blessed Chimeras, or for flight, on something at least as large as a stormraven. These 2 man Bikes were open, and if she fell, she would be hurt, Badly.

skinny looked back to see if lilith was still there, the start had been a bit bumpier than anticipated. Seeing she was still there and the others were following, skinny returned his attention to the terrain in front of him.

Artyom grumbled into his helmet "Qualifications. Yeah right" He placed his plasma weapons onto their holding racks on each side of the bike. He pressed the ignition switch and the bike revved to life. He opened the throttle and the vehicle shot out of the garage. The blasted surface of the asteroid was pockmarked and as such the party constantly needed to avoid the craters. Each one a record of the past. Artyom continued to drive on. Machinery flew past and blended colors until they faded into the distance behind them. Artyom let his mind wander as he drove on. His body and reflexes would steer him clear of the static danger. His thoughts wandered for a long time. He wondered why he was eking out such a miserable life upon these asteroids. What he actually wanted in life.

There was silence on the comms between the assembled taskforce members for several minutes as they sped across the barren, pockmarked surface of the asteroid. he felt a slight twinge in the scars on his face as he imagined the surfaces to bear uncanny similarity. Skinny and the priestess signaled off right, and they all skidded down a dusty bank to come into line with a crevasse.

Vex suddenly broke the silence with a random hum, when the others looked they saw him jumping off the path they were destined to take, and land infront of the group. Hitting the brakes and spinning he began to drive in reverse beside skinny. "So boss what are we doing again? I already forgot...hehe." Vex laughs.

[Esiphas]

Lilith answered for Skinny. ''We are trying to find and, if necessary, save the poor lost souls on the crshed imperial ship. You would do well to try and Remember Vex. These are your brothers in arms, and they are all men of our god emperor.'' She began to murmer a prayer, for both the group and the men in the shuttle, prayimng for salvation and sucesss.

They got started along this new stretch of equally barren land until the terrain leveled out and the crevasse ended. on Naulo's HUD display, the crash site was highlighted in the near distance.

The words of the prayer Lilith was quietly murmuring over the comms, washed over Naulo. It fortified his spirit. He had begun to feel worried about a possible conflict with the greenskins. He had had a small experience of them, having once seen one dead and a few alive in the vid-caps of a recent conflict his regiment had been in. He shuddered at the thought of them. He had fought mainly Tau during his stint in the Emperor's service, they were in comparison a very civil if devious enemy. At least you knew you could reason with a 'Gray' - the Orks are something else.

Lilith finished her prayer, then Whispered to Naulo over a private com Channel ''Your feeling worried. Or you were. I can see it in your body langauge. Have faith my friend. Nothing is lost when you have faith. Only the faithless are vunerable.'' Then she Inhaled sharly. ''Arytom... he almost proclaimed his lack of faith outright... Now i'm worried.'' She went back to praying quietly, for Arytom alone this time, open coms again.

Vex, still riding beside Skinny, watched as the girl, spoke into her helm, and seeing as nothing came over the coms assumed it was private. To whome she spoke he did not know, but never the less Vex decided to keep a watchful eye on her...

In an instant something came up on the HUD's motion tracker, far off to the right of Vex's Radar. Too far for others but just barly on his, only for a second then it was gone...an unknown signature...too small for an Ork and too fast for a human...
