Hey! I thought id start a thread called NCA....'Nid Collectors Anonymous'!

Come here tell us all about your selfs, Names, Hobby's, Jobs, Partners, What got you into WH40k or Nids! I'll get the ball rolling!

Well my name is Danny Taylor, am 24 years old and live in a small village called Holton le Clay just outside of a small seaside town called Grimsby!

I have a Girlfriend called Tiffany, been together for 6 years or something! and Ive got 2 cats called Soxs and George! a Bearded dragon called Mungo, and a cockertiel called Spike!
I'm a joiner by trade but cause of the recession and poor building trade at the minute i currently work at a Turkey slaughter house cleaning up on nights shifts! gruesome job but its pays £££!

I like sports, racing, boxing and football(soccer) as well as gardening (grow my old vegetable and stuff!!) and doing the house up room by room (gotta fill my joinery needs some were!)
and of course i like to collect Nids!

I started when i was about 13, couple friends took me to the local games workshop because they were starting, and wanted to see if i would like it! and i did but i have to wait for months till i got a paper round to fund my gaming! I collected Nids till i was about 15, and just sorta stopped really, not sure why!
i started again when i was 17, bought a trash load of necrons when they was first released, but with no one to play with and not really knowing anyone at the store didn't take long to stop again!
I did try again when i was about 20 bought alot of tyranid stuff but then i Lost my job and my girlfriend decided that having a roof over are heads was more important then models so i had to sell them again, with a promise that i could do it again once i had a steady job and what not!
So i finally started again in Nov 2010, and Ive stuck to it so far! progression has been slow and things like tiling a bathroom from the floor up and re-designing the garden getting in the way but am getting there!!

Feel free to post anything about your self, and if this seems like a daft idea then just let this thread sink and die a horrible death!!

I am an avid gamer and generally a chill type person. Single and like it that way. I love animals of all kinds (specifically reptiles and amphibians) and have always had an interest in artsy type things.

Used to do competitive gymnastics for a full 7 years, now I do martial arts (3rd year in that) otherwise I can't say I have much of an interest in sports

I am a student at a community college and do not have a job currently.

what got me into warhammer/nids? I think it was my friends back like 4 years ago that were playing the game. one of them gave me a single, awfully constructed gaunt and from there I had a quest. I needed to know everything about this "warhammer 40k" game and tyranids. I quickly fell in love with the building and painting of the models but never really got into the actually game. build, convert, sculpt, and paint thats what I like

havent done anything 40k related in awhile... might need to get back...

Hello all. My name is Jacob Vandyke, I am 18 and live in a little town called Rigby in Idaho, USA.

Basically all I do with my time is work and Warhammer. I work full time and do tech support for Sony Playstation (w00t) so I don't have a whole lot of free time. But with my free time I do Warhammer stuff: Build models, make lists, read rules, etc. Well, that or hang out with my friends and play Halo\Call of Duty. I am single and do not see getting a GF anytime soon (rather busy) so my friends rub that in my face all the time, but it's cool cause I make way more $ than them .

I got into Warhammer over two years ago, just looking at the models is what made me want to start. The reason I got into Tyranids is due to a book called Desert Raider. How the nids were described was so amazing that I had to play them. Now I also play Orks, Chaos marines, Marines, and High Elves. Orks are my largest army just because I use a lot of Boyz, but Nids are still my favourite.


I am out of school and am currently saving up money to go to college, even if I do not want to go right now (acursed parents). I do not do sports of any kind but I do enjoy Paintball and plan to start up an area to play with my best friend and his dad.

My name is Alfred and I live in Sundsvall, Sweden.

I'm 35 (apparently old for this forum), married to Sofia and have two kids, an 4 y.o girl and a 2.5 y.o son.

I work as a surgeon at the local hospital, doing mostly upper GI surgery but I consider myself a general surgeon.

My GW hobby started with Blood Bowl in the late 80's then moving on to 40K around 1990 or so... For many years I played Space Wolves only and my army grew very slowly. Around 2003 the hobby got a new boost as I started my second army, Death Guard, which changed my focus cencerning the hobby from gaming to converting(/painting).

Since the kids game I haven't had much time for 40K, playing more Blood Bowl though, but now I feel the itch...

Starting up Tyranids and looking forward to a summer of coverting/painting and some gaming.

Other than that I play the saxophone, read SF and dream about the days I played Rugby (oh sweet youth).

I'm training to become a teacher, and got engaged to my Fiance Jonathan this Easter.

I've been playing Tyranids for about 3 or 4 years now, and I adore them! I devote a significant amount of my free time to making them beautiful. I seem to have some fixation on insects, so Tyranids are my favourite Warhammer army of all

I also enjoy Minecraft, WoW, Star Wars, Magic the Gathering, Yu Gi Oh, Tamagotchis, nonsense, and general tomfoolery.

But not as much as cake.

I've played Nids for 7 months with an army that is almost 700 models large. I play a lot of Apoc.

I'm a high school student, and tend to be very dangerous if given a lighter or some other source of flame. My cousin Danny is a troll but he shares the same love for fire. I work in a Blockbuster and play drums in a band called Bottom Shelf Drinkers.

My name is Jonathan. I'm 20 years old and live in Lytham St.Annes in Lancashire, England.

Soon I will be starting an art college course after a big break due to health problems. Hopefully this will catapult me back into position and society. My drawings are mainly conceptual, usually dragons and other mythical animals.

My main hobby is gaming, and I primarily play fighting games competitively while playing FPS, MMORPG's and RTS's casually. I have a big passion for anime and manga too. Warhammer is my least explored hobby due to the general cost but one I absolutely adore, both the TT game and the lore. Warhammer has been a part of my life for around 10 years.

I have a fantastic group of friends who have always been there for me during hard times with health. They help me with transport and are always willing to come to me if I can't come out.

My goal is actually to one day move to Singapore (I love the place), but I highly doubt it will happen unless I can really push my art skills and blaze this college course and continue onward. I'm happy in England regardless but living in a warmer country would be overall better for my health.

I'm well on my way to my 21st year and reside on a mountain (no, really, its a B*#ch to climb from the train station) in the sea-side town of Simonstown, which houses fully 80% of the South African Navy. All 15 ships and 3 subs. Or there round.

I got into 40k after seeing my first Nid(and 40k) battle at a airshow in 08, I think, whilst me and budy were running away from someone... I forget who or why. It was awesome. Only a 3ed Tyrant and a couple o hormies, but I was hooked. After that I couldn't find anything on 40k and I assumed the guys must have imported.

After years of searching through the length and breadth of South Africa. (its actually sad, as soon as we followed the a White Dwarf store entry, we get there after the store had closed, or closed down. I eventually found suppliers and with my brother bought Battle for Macragge box set. 3 years later we started importing ourselves.

Like jward most of my teenage years were spent burning things in my friends house, playing bass in metal band and drawing mythology's monsters and heroes. a hbbit I have not lost and am currently wrighting a book on the Tokilosh- a south African Zombi/demon/water nymph depending on its mood/ or if its underthe spell of sangoma. Though Ima make it alot more modern.

Anyway yeah. I still Love nids and am still searching for a unassembled unpainted 3ed tyrant.

Oh still want to challenge a fellow hive member to a battle of BEERHAMMER 40K-a normal 40k battle but you take a swig of beer or a shot of vodka whenever you take a casualty. The only 40k battle where you get more happy the more you loose.

Hobbies other than 40k are lots of video games, MTG, anime and manga. I also have been going to Anime Expo (AX) every year since 08.

I have 2 jobs, meat clerk at a grocery store and junior instructor at a Tae Kwon Do studio.

I got into Tyranids because of the aesthetic appeal and being the ultimate villain, all of my friends played some form of the Imperium so I get to make tons of biomass and skittles jokes.

I am a fencing teacher but will have to quit soon as my college is far from where I teach.

I got into tyranids because I bought the Battle for Maccrage set and played a few games and liked the tyranids.

In my free time I fence, play 40k, and play video games. I also enjoy airsoft and paintball.
