Do Creationists play Tyranids?

I really don't mean to be rude, but do Creationists play Tyranids? Is it OK, as the Nids are a made up Alien race? Do Creationists believe in Aliens?
Please lets not turn this into a flaming war, serious answers only as I don't want to risk insulting anyone... I'm just nosy.

40k is a game based on fiction so it wouldn't matter if they actually believed in extra-terrestrial life or not. I'd imagine there are plenty of Creationist players. As much as with any other army, anyway.

I don't know about nids, but I have a christian friend who can't play chaos (the race he wants to play) because his parent's who are quite closed minded would flip if they saw the models. It doesn't help that he has to get the models through his parents despite the fact he could hide them perfectly well.
I'd have to ask if they would flip if they saw nids.
EDIT: No they probably would not. They probably would at necrons as well though.

I am a christian and I play them.
Anyone who has trouble with fiction is silly.
My father is also christian and he plays Eldar and Orkz.
I have really strong conservative friends (the kind who don't like holy cow because cows aren't holy.) and they would hate chaos but nidz would prolly be okay.

Ah. The whole "Is this game my child is playing going to turn him into an occultist?" fear. That sucks. I thought that kind of died out in the nineties. What with day-time television and video games the way they are. Too bad. It's such an irrational fear as well. Who in their right minds would go out of their way to worship the gods of Chaos? Gods that are completely fictional and claim to be nothing more. Gods whose own codex tells you it's a very, very bad thing to worship them in the first place....

Im a new earth creationist and i play nids.
In my oppinion the people who wont play nids are afraid they are not strong enough in their beliefs and might falter. Or the parents think that of their kids. Which in my opinion is silly. My parents (when i lived at home) taught me right from wrong and told me to fear what needed to be feared and to trust what needed to be trusted. (this is going to sound really corny now ) Its like a tree if you have a good base and are grounded the wind wont blow you over.

I am a Christian and I collect Word Bearers. Warhammer 40k is just fiction and influences me as much as anything else fictional does. From computer games and movies, to the Moon Landings and the collapse of the British Empire.
Then again, I don't really call myself a full Creationist. I believe in the why, but not the how.

Its like a tree if you have a good base and are grounded the wind wont blow you over. My neighbor had a well rooted tree (I think it was either a full-grown oak or maple tree) be uprooted and blown partly into my driveway. The majority of it was in the middle of the road. So I don't know about that saying.

Very religious people might find 40k disturbing in the sense that the whole premise is death and slaughter on a platoon/skirmish level.
By the same token though, I play W40k and love it, but I find chaos very disturbing due to the horrendously violent nature of chaos(in the sense that chaos is violent for the sake of being violent, whereas for most other races violence is a means to an end).

Just to point out but technically isn't 40K gambling since you are reliant on the roll of a dice to determine the outcome of an event? Thus you are gambling with victory or defeat of your army of models over the result of a gamblers dice! That is to say nothing of the lure of the gamer toward worship of the Dice Gods - the silent prayer offered up to them to further the result of the gamblers dice roll.

Short answer, Yes.
I have like, Slight qualms with chaos or whatever but I don't really care as long as my opponent doesn't sit down and start praying to nurgle mid game.
Tyranids though, Nah nothings wrong with them. Fiction is Fiction.
