No reviews for the new Ultramarine movie?

I am surprised that there is no review for the Ultramarine movie? So anyone here saw? I don't want to pay the ridiculous amount of money that they are asking for it.

ive not seen this movie yet but im interested i hope to see nids in a sequel, the invasion of tyran would make a truly epic film

Strangly enough, after i made this comment my package arrived.

i dont know if the added waiting to the dvd had an effect on my opinion but here goes.
overall i thought the dvd was very poor.
The packaging, case and book all look nice, and a lot of effort went into creating them, but after paying £29.99 i was expecting a half decent film.

the animation was below average, ive seen better animations on youtube. the faces seemed unrealalstic, and a lot of the animation seemed jumpy. also to me, the characters seemed a little, dispropotioned, and the detailing in the background was basic.

personaly i much prefer the cgi movies that you got at the start of both dawn of war games.

as to the story line it seemed, pointless. it basicly starts on an imperical battle barge, and there are only a handfull of marines on it, that are sent to a planet to search for servivours of the imperial fist legion, there was 100 strong on the planet, so if they couldnt cope with what dark forces that was there, i dont understand how 12 would have much luck.

the action scenes wernt to bad, but yet again unrealistic. ( if you dont want to have the film spolt dont read this bit) but i mean a chaplin, 5 marines are shooting a horde of chaos marines, but cant hit them for toffe...up pops the ultramarines captin, armed with a bolt pistol kills the squad.

in between the action there seems to be a lot of walking, and not much talking which to be honest, kinda bored me.

as to the end, seemed really rushed, and predictable.

overall i must say that i would warn people not to waste there money on this film.
if for example you could could find this on ebay, it would be worth paying maybe up to £7ish, but £30...no way.

I have to admit that I would suggest waiting for the general realese next year and pick it up then when its much cheaper.

I wish they kept then WHOLE idea of the bolt gun, as from Dawn of War and such, The bolt gun isn't a SMG where 40 bullets half a sec or something, its BOOM, BOOM, BOom! not BABABABABABABABBABABABABABBABABABABABABAA!

you know?! Just ah to buy it. I'm hearing good and bad reviews. mostly bad sad to say. Like the idea of a movie, but would rather see graphics and fighting like Dawn Of War scenes had you know then I WOULD be online at mid night.

Someone doesn't know the fluff.

Bolt guns can go full auto or single shot. But cause marines are so awesome they only use singleshot if they need to save ammo

Besides, Full auto is so much cooler.

Thought it was fun, like an extended test demo, agreed the faces where not up to scratch and the overall story was not epic, (to say the least) but they got a lot of the fluff right, (looking amazing! Inside Marine ship, nuff said) and it was fun to watch.
If GW get them to do a second I hope it'll be a better story and longer than a hour.
As a movie 6/10 as a 40K movie 8/10 just for the fact it's a WARHAMMER movie! Finally...

I liked this movie, Maybe its just because I didnt watch it looking for things that were wrong with it. I will be another to agree that the animation wasnt the best, but hey it was the first 40k movie (not counting Inquisitor or Damnatus). I thought that there were alot of boring things like all the walking and not much actual fighting but even I who read alot of 40 books was surprised a little by the twist at the end.
In the end it was ok Id give it a 7/10 overall, Id like to see bigger battles next time. Just give it a chance, it is also a great movie to paint to.

Heres a review i found:
The movie is mediocre at best, not only if you are a fan, but if you are completely uninitiated to the universe of Warhammer 40K. Scene quality is mixed. Some scenes are clearly much better than others in terms of design, and CG quality, still better than the trailers though. The story is decent enough, but the dialog is too limited to make the voice actors' time on screen worthwhile. The voice acting is good, but the vaunted lip syncing that Codex pictures was supposed to use, is actually used in very few scenes and then looks like an animated cut-scene from a game was used. Concerning the atmosphere, it's grim, it's dark, and it looks very lonely out there. The massive Imperium is not conveyed to the viewer. Overall, this movie has the feeling like it was an extra added to a book or game, and not a feature-length movie, at least not one worth going to the theater for. If you are a Warhammer 40K fan, you will not be pleased with the result. If you are not a Warhammer 40K fan, I don't think you will be thrilled with the thought of becoming one.
