Are flyer's in Apocalypse useful?

Rather straight forward really, I'm soon to acquire an Eldar Nightwing and was wondering how useful it and flyer's in general are in games of Apocalypse. Am I likely to get much use out of the model on the game table? More importantly, are they fun to use?

It will be my first FW kit and being such a beautiful model I'm understandably quite excited ;D

it is a nightwing... dude buy it for the prestige, plus you can take it in normal 40k... counts as a heavy support... Flyers are hard, but fun to use, and usually a good target for the enemy, thank god for 4+ saves.

edit: oh yeah... and while your at it... vampire raiders RULE!

I know When i get to play a full scale Apol war, I'll prob use my Thinderhawk and a good deal of speeders with H-Bolters and A-Cannons on them. Got to love those rending 6'es. Also backed up with MultiMelta and H-flamers.

Flyers are a damn anoying thing to play against especilay if you dont have anything to deal with them affectivley, but then a Apol games you're bount to have somthing.

dude... if you want a flyer, don't get the eldar one... just kidding...

its a great flyer and completly worth it. I think its also the best one there is, you can use it to hunt down enemy tanks or heavy armoured infantry. The trick with tanks is if they're in a collum, immoblisise the lead tank so the other ones can't go around it. You also need to avoid things like pintle mounts, AA platforms and other flyers like the thunderbolt of the Imperials.
