I wanted to give the termi's a MoN too, to stay in theme, but that would become too expensive points-wise. But i could already paint them nurgle-style and then when expanding the army to lets say 1000p give them the mark.

!!!!!!) A problem i have is with the current config and expanding it later on. For example, i assume the current config of the Lord is not the config you would normally use when playing 1000+ battles. But I dont feel like buying yet another lord when starting to expand my army but WYSIWYG

Can someone give me some advice on how to arm my chaos lord in larger battles, so that i can model it like that already (WYSIWYG is not really an issue with the at-home-battles i play) instead of having to either buy another one or rip of gear later on?

It has to be a Nurgle Lord, so MoN is always in. Any thought?
I assume terminator armour? I read that a deamon weapons are a no-go?

Also im wondering what to do with the Termi's. Best to fit them out to fulfill either a CC or a shooting role. Seeing that I sooner or later want obliterators, fitting out termi's for CC seems like the best option (as oblits might fulfill the same role of shooting hard but better, or am i totally wrong here?) However, i will lose out on some serious firepower until my army gets expanded with oblits

I play Nurgle all the time. At 1k points maybe you want that termy lord with a demon weapon, in that case just drip some hot glue down the blade and call it a plague blade!
If you plan to run obliterators, definately make the terminators CC, yes alas it does hurt your for long range firepower right now, but not much you can do. I do not run terminators in my army.
I also recomend you buy your marines as actual plaguemarines, the extra points are worth it (if this doesn't fit your fluff, ignore it!). Maybe at 1k go for a dreadnaught in there?
My army is 4 squads of 7 plaguemarines (buying plaguemarines eliminates the STUPID!!!!!! one time cost no matter unit size mark thing) because 7 is the number of nurgle. Two of these squads have two plasma guns. A unit of 7 possesed in a rhino my lord joins, and 2 dreads, wach with tein linked lascannon, one with missile launcher the other with a CC claw. At 1k points I drop a full squad of marines, a dread, and various upgrades.
My lord carries a combi-melta bolter, and a powerfist (I do not use the daemon weapon).
Hope this helps, at 500 points there is not a lot of options.

Ok ehm, just some questions:

1) this number of nurgle (7 or 14), this is just fluff right, you dont really have to take 7 or 14 to have certain game benefits right? (i didnt find any in the codex)

2) i love termi's so they must be in Ehm....do you have any recommendations about the setup for the termi's, taking into account that I would probably go for 3 oblits, and a predator as heavy support (maybe some havocs if i can fit them in but dont think so), would i have to replace all ranged weaponry on the termi's?

3) so you recommend not using any "normal" marines but going plaguemarines all the way?
I dont have the rulebook (my brother has one) so i havent check the "feel no pain" rule but i heard quite a few ppl saying it was really good Apparently it is worth the extra points.
But taking only plaguemarines...then you are also quite limited with the heavy weapons in your squards (lascanons?)

As for the actual models, I would personally buy normal CSM and covert them with greenstuff rather than buying 7 metal models for more money than 10 CSM. Also, i dont really like the current plaguemarine models. Good idea?

4) would you recommend any aspiring champion upgrades (with powerfists) for the CSM/plague marines/termi's squads? Or is that not worth it?

The idea behind this list is to have both a effective and themed fun to play list. The obliterators and predator are there for heavy fire long range fire support. The two DG squads are there for their "numbers", one in a rhino for some tactical flexibility, while the other can steadily advance towards enemy lines. The lord can accompany this unit, and could even be supported by the deep striking termi's. But better would be to have the rhino mounted DG embark within enemy troops and deep strike them there :evilgrin:

Hehe sorry bit slow responding. Yes, 7 is pure fluff, no need to stick with it at all!
Actualy that is a good combination of weapons on your terminators, they will not be useless at range, and still extremely tough in CC.
Feel no Pain is GREAT!! It is not an invulnerable save, but it is an extra roll after you fail an armor save. Those instant death and power weapons still destroy you, but anything you get a save against. . you get TWO saves against! So for me worth the points.
You do lose a lot of flexibility in weapon choices, but you have long range firepower covered, and since a plasma shot that "gets hot" does not use its AP 2, you get both your save and "feel no pain" against it, small odds you will lose him.
Now, get out there and cover the universe in rot and disease!
I converted my entireNurgle army except for my lord from regular marines. I used battlewagon bits mostly, to get berserker legs for my CC guys etc.
