How Good Are Chaos Terminaters? (the new ones)

i recently gave 125 dollars(canadian) to my friend who was going down to the states. he was going to get me some warhammer from down there (the canadian dollar is worth more than the american dollar!!!)

it turns out that the us price for a set of spawn or possessed is 25 dollars. canadian price is 45 dollars. the can $ is worth more than the american $, so im getting one heck of a deal!


but anyways i ordered the new termie lord and some chaos termies.

are the chaos terminators good gamewise? (2 late to change my mind since my friend coming back with the goods on sunday)

Yes. One of their benefits is really cheap combi weapons. For 5pts each, you can give the whole unit a one shot killer gun.

UK is still euro free - and will remain so (EU gave up on use - we even get to keep all our Impirial numbers - so GW won't have to change to cms)

I would give every model in the squad a combiweapon or heavy flamer and half the squad fists(to a max of 2, but I wouldn't run more than 4 man squads in 1750), but thats just me being optimal

My layout was

4 termies
3 combi-plasma
1 heavy flamer
2 fists

Its honestly like 160 points or something. Thats crazy good.

why isnt anyone using lightning claws (or a pair of them) on their termi's? Looks cool and no armour saves allowed with reroll failed to wound is good right?

They are at least as good as the Imperial ones, if not better due to the choice of weapons and marks.

Yes, but imperial terminators get assault cannons and veteran abilities. After seeing the new chaos codex I think I'd rather have imperial terminators over chaos terminators.

Yeah they're ok, I wouldn't go crazy on these guys though. The Black Templar Sword Brethren would tear up Chaos Termies any day of the week. Then again that's Black Templar, not your typical Space Marine list.

###Side Note### Good news for my neighbors up north, just come down to the US. Your Dollar is worth more now. So that's cheaper than anything you buy up in Canada, so long as you have a passport .
