If an opponent loses combat, and suffers the No Retreat! rule (pg 48), and the outnumbering wounds cause the losing unit to be wiped out... does that allow for a Massacre (pg 43) result?

I don't have the rules on me, but my instinct says yes it would be a massacre.

I think this because sweeping advances also cause a massacre. The unit is wiped out therefore it is a massacre.

Let's put it like this:
A Unit of Berzerkers is attacked in close combat by a unit of Genestealers. The Genestealers naturally strike first, ripping apart all but one of the Berzerkers. After the Berzerker makes his strikes, he is still outnumbered. He have to take extra saves, and is pulled down by the mass of Stealers and killed.

This thus means that the Berzerker unit was wiped off the board in one combat turn, and therefore I would say it was a massacre^^

i don't have my rulebook in fron of me... but, i thought it works the same as when you score a sweeping advance. in both cases, you've wiped out the opposing squad after resolving actual assault casulties.
...i'll take a look when i get home tonight, though.

I think that you will only consolidate 3" not a D6. I'm not sure though... but I play Black Templars and thats what I do. Please tell me if I'm wrong.

I don't even own a rule book though. I just use the store copy or I "borrow" my friend's copy.

All enemy models destroyed = Massacre!;
Successful Sweeping advance = all enemy models are destroyed = Massacre!;
All remaining models fail No Retreat! saving throw = all enemy models are destroyed = ____?
