No, he's deaf.
Kamelot, Iron Maiden, Sabaton, Dir En Gray, Disturbed, Dope, Rammstien....
Mostly mainstream, but a lot of stuff people tell me is awesome is often not, so don't tell me what's awesome.

Acid Bath, Psychoroika, Velvet Acid Christ, Kidney Thieves, Wumpscut, Marilyn Manson, NIN, KMFDM, Ministry, Skinny Puppies, 16Volt, And One.
Those are all bands, labeled "metal" per se, albeit they are Industrial, Gothic, EBM, Coldwave, Darkwave, and Ambient.

So far I've seen alot of Industrial., rock, and Lady Parts music. I've seen some good stuff like Maiden and Metallica, Slayer but personally Manson, apocalyptica and that stuff just bites. Manson is like trying to be all dark but in MY OPINION is just a punk.
I LOVE death metal, Grind core, and Death core. The "Un-understandable" stuff, but to Lonewolf, I agree. I'm not the biggest fan of rap but I do like some of it. Like some Tech N9ne, Lmfao (YES) , Eminem and some Ludacris

alright well i saw maiden in june. SO GODLY
anyways my top metal bands go to Mastodon, Maiden, dethklok, Morbid angel, Dimmu Bogir, Slayer and some slipknot amongst others
however a few classic songs you can't miss in-a-gadda-da-vida by iron butterfly, not necessarily metal but still good, anything by steppenwolf, party in the usa.
but recently 90's is my thing with some RATM, radiohead, pearl jam, anthrax, nirvana and soundgarden (audioslave as well)

Megadeth, Opeth, and Mastadon (as well as some Dethklok) are about all I listen to for metal... I really find vocals kill it for me, so metal bands that do a lot more instrumental work or actually try to sing (vs growl or whatever) are what I prefer. I should listen to some more as I know a few songs by maiden that I like, but just don't have the time to sit down and listen to new stuff (new to me...) when there's so much older music I already like... I'll stick with my blues thank you

MEGADETH, MetallicA(Kill em all-Metallica), Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Iced Earth, Tool(not strictly metal but doesn't seem to have a genre, Pantera, Amon Amarth, Lamb of God, Sepultura, Arch Enemy...List goes on. Surprisingly many "Medal 'eds" are 40k-ers

So far I've seen alot of Industrial., rock, and (please do not swear) music. I've seen some good stuff like Maiden and Metallica, Slayer but personally Manson, apocalyptica and that stuff just bites. Manson is like trying to be all dark but in MY OPINION is just a punk. I liked Apocalptica because they were different. It's a breath of fresh air to see a band use something other than the usual guitar/bass/drums combo used by almost every other metal band in existence. Not the best band ever of course but interesting. Manson WAS good back in the day. Really. This may be hard to believe for some people but he actually produced some top notch music in the mid-90's. Back when his work was clearly influenced by NIN and David Bowie. Nowadays he just always comes off as trying too hard to keep the shock factor his music used to have. Metallica have always seemed boring to me. There was nothing in their music that grabbed my attention and aside from a handful of songs I never listened to any of their work at length. Maiden are awesome. That fact is undisputed. I've seen them live three times and each time seemed even better than the last. There's just something about them.... Also they have some of the best songs in metal history. Infinite Dreams, anyone? Clairvoyant? Hallowed Be Thy Name? Slayer.... I remember when all of my close friends were HUGE into Slayer. I borrowed an album off one of them and couldn't find a single track I liked. I remember one song called Angel of Death which, as far as I could make out, was about Mengel and the Nazi death camps. It seemed way too cliché and over the top. Like today's Manson: Trying too hard. Try Mudvayne, Fear Factory and Ministry. You may like it. You may not.

Watch Flight 666. It pretty much puts together a answer to the question "Why are Maiden so awesome?".

Ahhh metal. I can't listen to stuff that growls. Like, at all. I mostly like Industrial Metal or Progressive Metal. That's it. Let's see... Dream Theater, Porcupine Tree(during there more metal moments), Tool, KMFDM, Nine Inch Nails(There earlier stuff was a lot heavier), and Rammstein. Those are the only metal things I listen to now days.

I love Death Metal, but Carnifex is quite lame (Boltthrower is a better and older Warhammer based band...World Eater rules). The bands I listen to: Haemorrhage, Impaled, Exhumed, Carcass, Gruesome Stuff Relish, Mortician, Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse, General Surgery, Macabre, Necrophagia, Deicide, Nasum, Dead Infection, Satyricon, Behemoth, Vader, The County Medical Examiners, Cephalic Carnage, Darkthrone, Splatterhouse and many many more.

the only metal i don't like is pure black metal where they're just growling 'i am the devil and i want to (please do not swear) your mother' or extreme industrial metal where it's at the point of techno with a electric guitar.
