40k armour rules

jsut wana clear up soemhtign with the armour in 40k

does a space marine with a 3+ armour save always have a 3+ armour save reguardless of the opponents strength?

in fantasy armour saves are reduced by every point an enemy has over 4, so a 4+ armour save will become 5+ if the enemy has strength 4 and 6+ for s5 etc.

i thought s didnt modify armoru saves and that a wapons AP was the only way to beat armour until somebody said somehtign about it in a forum.

You are correct the strenght of a weapon/attack does not affect the armour save the ap however does
