Yeah, I'm not sure why it'd attack everything it could. That tends to lead to horrible death. Survival's the major instinct.

T-Rex was a Land Shark!
Do Great Whites just wait for stuff to die?
Almost everything is smaller and weaker than it and the big stuff he's just doesn't care enough not to attack.
You might want to check out some predatory bird behavior.

I agree that all predators scavenge.
T-Rex was still a Killer and killed much more than he scavenged.

Alright folks, getting off topic...

I wouldn't say off-topic, we're talking about dinosaurs and dinosaurs are linked with the past and time travelling is linked to the past. It all comes together nicely though.
But seriously, I'll never see this video the same way again (A little violent so discretion is advised)
(Accidentally got some rubbish AMV but you get the idea) So now that we know Nanotyrannus and Tyrannosaurus are the same species, it seems we have another dino-cannibal apart from Ceolophysis. Well I'm sure theres hundreds others but still, gives you a better idea of how desperate dinosaurs began to get late-cretacious period. To think they changed so rapidly throughout their lives. I guess it makes sense that an adolescent T-Rex would be able to fend and hunt for itself though.

In the whole hunter/scavenger debate, one should consider the Hyena. It is a better scavenger than hunter, but it will hunt when carrion isn't plentiful.

Yeah I always imagined Rex being like a striped Hyena. Hyenas themselves are incredibly powerful, just very cautious and intimidating. You tend to hear about Hyena packs chasing off smaller Lion prides, when you consider the difference in anatomy its a fairly big feat. Then again, thats spotted Hyenas.

You must be careful not to lump predators together like that.
A Hyena is a badly mutated big cat.
I assure you that nothing in the mammal kingdom comes anywhere close to a Theropod.
Comparing the 2 species leads me to believe T-Rex was the land equivalent to the Great White.
He is a hyper specialized Biting machine.
