Welcome to my long awaited Brain Decathlon.
I suggest you start with the penultimate puzzle first.
Trygon, King of Trolls, would like to return to The Hive.
Alas, the internet is tubes. Help our beloved upstart find his way home.
There are forty Genestealer Cultists lurking on TTH. Can you find them all?
Fill in exactly ten unoccupied threads in each puzzle below to represent every one.
The numbers represent how many adjacent, including diagonally, squares are Cultists.
Place all the names below this diagram, inside it, so that no squares are left empty.
If you are having a hard time getting started, try filling the topmost horizontal name in first.
I, Dr. Cyclops, have developed a devastating new drug that brainwashes the masses to like mayonnaise.
Alas former employees, whom I've discharged & instructed to leave, erased the quantities in my formula.
The numbers in the black squares refer to the sums of the digits to be filled into the empty (white) squares.
The number below the diagonal line determines the column under it, whereas the number above, leads sideways.
Place one digit (1-9, no zeroes) in each square. No digit is used more than once in any particular digit combination.
Auxellion has a tournament to go to in twenty minutes.
Can you help him assemble his nine Hive Guard in time for his next triumph?
This is Sudoku, except with the words Hive Guard in place of integers between 1 & 9.
Three Hive fleets have collaborated to attack. Each lead by a Tyrant & three Guard.
In each puzzle below there's one Tyrant, represented by a 5x5 T as shown on the right.
As well as three Tyrant Guards, represented by the smaller 3x3 T's as shown on the left.
They may appear right side up, up side down, side ways, but never adjacent to another, even diagonally.
The number at the beginning of each row or column indicates the number of squares in one or more T found there. Blacken in every T.
Numbers on the left span right. Numbers above, descend. Disregard the numbers on the bottom & right, they belong to the other puzzles.
These are potentially new strains of Tyranids.
The four DNA components are volatile if near a like portion of themselves.
Fill in the puzzle pieces in each diagram with one of the four symbols, so no sections containing the same symbol touch.
The Tyranid Hive
Out of the words The Tyranid Hive- How many words can you come up with using only those letters?
You may only use a letter multiple times, if it appears that many times in the words: The Tyranid Hive.
I've found 58 four letter words, 34 five letter words, 31 six letter words, 8 seven letter words & 3 eight letter words.
Words starting with capitol letters, plurals, contractions, foreign, abbreviated, obsolete, poetic, slang, archaic & dialect words aren't allowed.
Neither are Tyranid, Hive, or words below four letters. If you get as much (more) words as (than) me in your word list, I'll consider the puzzle solved.
The letters inside the vertical columns reside in the squares directly above them, but not necessarily in the order they are written.
A black square represents the end of a word or sentence. When the puzzle is completed a memorable quote will appear along with it's author.
The missing numbers are repeatable integers between 0 & 9.
The numbers in each column add up to the totals along the bottom.
The numbers in each row & the diagonal lines add up to totals to the right.
I've replaced the letters in these endearing truisms & authors, with numbers.
For example "In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king." might read as:
4 11---20 8 14---7 17 11 1---24 6---20 8 14---12 7 4 11 1,
20 8 14---12 11 14---14 16 14 1---9 17 11---4 5---19 4 11 23.
It's often advised with these, to start off with the two letter words & go from there.
Unscramble the tiles to reveal the prize for being the first to PM all 25, solved correctly.
Unscramble the tiles to reveal a didactic message, & the philosopher that said it.
