Play tyranids in single player?

Hi

I'm thinking to buy DoW 2.
I can install and activate it, but can only play the single player campaign. This is because I only have temporary access to the internet.

I know that in the single player we only play Space Marines (unfortunately), but I was wondering:

Is there in the game a kind of skirmish or scenario mode were I can play any race I choose (namely the tyranids) against the computer, without being connected to the internet?

You can start a local multi-player game and just play against the computer if you like .

Yes, I tought it would be possible to do something like that. Thanks for the information.

I think I'll buy it tomorrow and spend a little huge amount of the weekend playing it. At least choosing colour schemes for the hive (if possible).

ah that would be nice IF they do it like the new star craft"s" and do one for each race so that i can get the nid one and not the rest of them because if they bundle it like that they could potentially charge way to much for it when you only want to play nids and you would feel obligated to play the other campaigns if you pay that much for it

But seriously, how in the world will they handle dialogue for tyranid? Pointing at a solar system and making a garbled mess of sounds?

Yup. Orks and Eldar. I'm pretty sure they said they are only doing 2 factions, though.

People fail to realize that every Hive Tyrant is an independent, immortal mind that acts separately from the Hive Mind. This includes The Swarmlord, especially. Each tyrant is an ancient, battle-hardened General that has eons of experience. It's quite likely that the campaign will follow that, and that Tyranids just might have their own language. After all, they communicate telepathically. Just because humans don't understand them doesn't mean they can't speak.
