Suggestion to mods re: this board

Hello there, Would it be possible for you guys to create a sub-board as a sort of "trader rating" system... That way people will be able to look up users that have previously traded and read reviews about the transaction? This sort of thing has been done on other forums (mainly PHBB with an actual built in trade-feedback system.. but it can work as a sub-forum too)

How it would work:

Each user that's completed a trade would create a thread for themselves with their user name as the title.

Users that have traded with them would leave a rating and feedback on how the trade went.

We could incorporate a rating system like:

A = Excellent transaction everything went off without a hitch, Extremely happy

B = Good transaction, everything is fine communication was a bit lacking, Happy

C = Ok transaction, got what you were expecting, Content..

F = BAD TRANSACTION, Did not get what I was supposed to, Extremely unhappy.

EG: I would make a thread like this


Subject: Amos

Body: Rate my trade


The person I've traded with would then come into the thread and say

"A+ Fast shipping, accurate description of product, easy to deal with ect ect ect"

Humm... personally I see both good and bad points with this. I mean it could show reliable people to trade with, but could also, turn into: "I dun like you so I will throw some (please do not swear) your way". So if it work it would be good, if it goes bad it can be really bad.

Simple fix, If you haven't completed a transaction with the person, DONT POST

Make a rule punishable by infraction points or a temporary ban that if you go in there to cause trouble you'll see repercussions.

I personally really like this idea and it shouldnt be too hard to figure out if someone is just bad mouthing another person. I hope this idea is at least explored with a bit

It sounds like a good idea but i have to agree with koyori, it could be really bad too. i mean what if the seller is a jerk and says he never traded with that guy who he ripped off, and says that the buyer leaving bad feedback is just being a troll

Thats why you provide proof of pms, delivery confirmation, etc.

This thing is done on hundreds of forums around the world... The community on this forum isn't the kind that would abuse such a thing (Besides from maybe two 10 year old friends screwing around with each other)

How about we give it a try... and if it becomes too much of a problem, scrap it.

If you dont want to take the risk of trading, dont make others suffer. If you want to trade, fine, but lets not make it a large hassle for everyone ok? Plus, we dont wanna put to much stress on the mods. Its already good they made a entire board for trade. Dont take more than you can chew.
