Magnetizing stealers

Question: I could magnetize my 16 stealers so I can swap between having Talons and not, changes 64 points. In doing so I would need to magnetize 96 pieces.

16 stealers x6 (2 talons, 2 rending, 2 normal) = 96

Now I could change it form 96 to 64 but, that would mean glue the rending claws to the back arms spots where the normal arms go. On normal stealers rending claws are in the front, but with talons, talons are in the front and rending in the back.

So should I magnetize 96 pieces or magnetize 64 and glue the rending to the back?

Id glue the rending to the front and then magnatize the normal and ST arms both to the back. Ive seen it done and it looks pretty nice that way.

I was thinking that but it goes against how it's normally done.

You can do it either way, but I would strongly advise only magnetzing one set of RC and the ST. The other RCs stay anyway so it's a waste of magnets. Except for storage.

You can do it the normal way, but I would do it the other way just for the cool effect.

I made my stealers so you could swap out heads and the front set of arms. If you want to do that, you'll need to magnetize the rear set of shoulders so they interfere less with the magnets in the head. This is assuming you're using all magnet-magnet junctions, and not magnet-steel junctions. I thought it would be a good idea, as there's lots of talk about feeder tendrils and acid maw being cooler upgrades to take now.

I only have 4 FT heads and plan on just telling my opponent they all have them. hell I have then 12 that don't but I got 6 Macragge to so counters it. The head doesn't worry me. Just how much of a dent it will be to have them do it, of course I may magnetize a fex and hive tyrant just in case. SO about 120+ magnets.......I should get some kind of deal on that.

I was surprised by how little the magnets cost compared to the models your putting them in. I think I've spent a total of 41.00 on magnets (400 4mm steel balls, 400 3x1mm 50N discs, 40 4x1mm 50N, and 100 .25inch steel balls) before shipping, and if I'd ordered everything all at once my shipping would have been probably five bucks. I honestly don't know how many I've used, but it'll more than get me through 2000 points.
