4th Edition:

1. When marines lose combat and don't get caught by sweeping advance, do they fall back? If so, then do they automatically regroup afterwards?

2. When they do get caught by sweeping advance, and turn "fearless" do they receive the additional wounds for being outnumbered (4th edition)? How does this work in 5th edition?

3. Can marines be pinned?

4. Can marines fall back due to taking shooting casualties?

Okay, I have played marines and this is what I understand:
1. They fall back like normal, but then the first chance they get, they regroup, no matter what the circumstance (ie, enemy within 6 inches etc.)

2. They do not "turn" fearless, the combat merely continues in the next round. No extra wounds are calculated.

3. Yes

4. Yes, but then they auto-regroup next turn

I just checked the FAQ and it clearly states that the unit is subject to the 'No Retreat' rule and therefore has to take extra wounds.

So just to clarify: with ATSKNF (which is oddly left out of the 5th e rulebook) Marines automatically pass Morale tests to regroup and can do so even if they are below 50%. However, if an enemy unit is within 6", or the falling back SMs are not in coherency, they can't regroup and continue to fall back.

Yep, that's the case.

(as a side note, there are New FAQs for Marines, Dark Angels and Witch Hunters released in the past day or so. The Marine FAQ has the ATSKNF rule... their new codex is scheduled for early October release. There are also a few other corrections to check out)

Actually, this is the second time they have added to the SM FAQ since 5E. The first time they added ATSKNF, this time they added that land raiders are assault vehicles.

I am actually very impressed by how fast they are updating stuff.
