Hi,
I collect Tyranids, but later in this year I plan on also collecting another army. The other ones I liek the look of are Tau and Daemonhunters. My play style is preferably involving mostly shooting, but also some CC. I'm not an amazing tactitian, so if any can advise, advise away.

Hmm... those are interesting choices. Thing is, Tau are almost entirely shooty, their CC extends to Kroot and keeping the combat to a minimum. Daemonhunters are more interesting... but they're annoyingly metal, and don't have a massive amount of of variety.... unless you use them as allies or with allies, which makes them much more interesting. I'd suggest Daemonhunters.

I definitely think you should collect Tau. My friend collects them and he is the same as you likes shooting stuff but not very good tactician. You don't have to get close to shoot with Tau either there main weapon shoots 30" so I would go with Tau my friend.

My Reasoning:
Tau:Great shooty, no so great CC
Daemonhunters:Look awesome('specially termies), less variety
Psychichobo's point about the allies, shame they can't ally with Nids. DaemonH can ally with SM, IG, Eldar(But -1 Ld if in 6", going on 40kin40min chart) Sisters Of Battle, and themselves. Well I do have an eldar player and 2xSM players I play regularly with.

Ally with Eldar? I've never seen that chart before... you'll hafta show us...

I was referring to the in-codex rules for fielding them in space marine, IG or Witch Hunters armies. Means you can have them sat in the same FoC as another army totally legally... allying with Eldar sounds fun though. Mind you, I'm biased towards the Inquisition. I just likes the weirdness of it all...

I've been thinking about buying some Tau miniatures myself, just for dabbling with. My inspiration came from seeing the Hunter Cadre on the GW website, which looks totally awesome^^ Maybe in the future^^ I think you should go Tau^^

a)They were my 3rd choice army
b)Looking around local GW.....no Daemonhunter stuff at all.
c)My brother's starting Tau so there isn't a great deal of point us both collecting it.
Daemonhunters probably in a coupla years or so, when I am actually allowed to order over the interet.
