My few finshed models! UPDATED!

I have just a few finished models based and all. I have loads of unbased ones!
ok so you remember my un-inked ones? Well i have ink-washed my warrior carapace!
How do you think it looks? And should is still do the red line down the back?

The Gaunts are looking pretty nice. I would, however, add the red stripe down the back to the Warriors as well. As it is, that's a pretty big area of flat white that could really stand something to break it up.

I know i really should but i cant really paint the lines very well i was thinking of making a mark with drybrushed black? Would that work?

A little wash of brown ink might really help the carapace.

Yes they do look good, but I think that they all look unfinished.

I know you may not want to spend the time painting them up to a high level of detail, but just giving them a wash of brown on the carapace and a highlight of chaos black:bleach bone will really help make them look finished of.

as for the basses, these guys sort of look like they are in some sort of barren ash waste, so i reckon sand painted to look gray.

I hope I didn't come across a bit harsh their...

Water down some black ink a fair bit, so it's like dirty water, and smother the whole things with it. I think that would improve it a helluva lot.

I am a bit late, but I like the basing! That looks like the kind of wasteland terrain a tyranid invasion would leave. All nutrients leeched from the ground, leaving just chemicaly colored gravel!
I actualy think that white carapace would look better with a chestnut ink wash, or a bone wash to give it a bone finish, just a wash, no complex painting would make a big difference.
Also it looks like you did some greenstuff work on the "big" gun? that looks good. Keep it up Assimilator, every model you paint adds a bit of experience and skill!

PS: Don't trim your thumbnail that short. . it gives me the willies : )

I agree with the inking! Also, the ink will help mask the 'oppsies'... like the white over black. A very watery black (or brown) would help each plate get definition. Try it and you will be amazed!

Also, instead of white, you could use bone white. Then ink/wash the model and highlight with white. Try it with a Gaunt... if you like it then you can use it on your Warriors.

Yep, that really helped. I'd still add some sort of pattern in red. That's still a pretty big area of basically one colour, and it'll also help to tie the whole army together.
