300 Modeling Club: December

The goal is to completely build at least 300 points worth of models in 1 month. at the end of the month, a poll will be created for best results. Winner will receive a seal to add to their signature.

as with the 400 point painting club, there can be a huge range of disparity between 1 little 200 point HQ with 100 points of troops and 300 points of 5-point gaunts. You don't have to convert the models to participate, however, you should work to build as cleanly and as interestingly as possible. Decorative bases, no flash lines, drilled barrels will all count towards the final result, along with pose, any conversion work done, and so forth. Do the best you can do.

Step 1: on December 1, Post no more than 2 photos of 300 points of ANY ARMY.
they must be COMPLETELY UNASSEMBLED unless you're going to be drastically changing the models.

Step 2: on December 1, Post a 300 point list of said models. The list does not have to be a playable army, however, the list must be legal in the strictest sense (that is, you may not list a Space marine with Rending Claws).

Step 3: at any time during the month, feel free to post updates, questions, thoughts, requests for suggestions or advice, etc.

Step 4: Start posting final pictures to me VIA PM on December 26. entries will be accepted until December 31. Final results should NOT BE PRIMERED so that it will be easier to see the conversions done.

(we will repeat the process in January, February and so forth)

24x Gargoyles: 288 points...
These will be heavily converted from zombie, IG, Tgant and SM Jump pack sprues, as well as epoxy putty.

I'll figure out what to do for the last 20 points. I don' think I have enough parts for 2 more gargoyles. Will modify this post

Ok, gonna do Night lords, aiming for Heavy Conversion and some really really neat stuff... My green stuff is getting antsy

Fully kitted properly these three squads total 762 points, but since i wanted to stay close to the points we are gonna have to ignore the aspiring champions, the lightning claws and all that jazz that puts them that high and call it a nice even 432 points for 24 Chosen Chaos Night Lord Space Marines...

See they are unnassembled!

I'm doing a Black Templar command squad+commander. I'll tally the point at home but my commander is about 230 points. I also plan to add a LRC to it with extra armour from FW.

I've got the commander and company champion already done, just to finish the bases. I'll post pic later as at work and have no access to my Photobucket account.

Also so I don't get confused for Dec voting, how do we officially submit our finished models/squads at the end, as cant see any clear instruction on what we must do. I might of missed it.

I am going to try and enter this month with my own scuplted Sister Repentia miniatures. They will be using GW chainswords and probably eldar heads (still lack the skill for that kind of detail), but the rest I will be sculpting myself from shaved and GS'd sprues. I will get pictures of the process to prove I am doing so. To reach the point total I will add my exorcist in. Wish me luck.

you could do 2500 points if you wanted, but that's up to you.
300 is a minimum.

Ok, home now at last and here's me list.

Pics of small bits box which I spent about a hour and a half sifting thru all my stuff to find and SMCommand box and Bt upgrade.



I would add up the points but will be well over 300.

Ok, squad will consist of

1 Commander (adde to squad during play)
1 Sergeant
1 Company champion
1 Apothecary
1 standard banner bearer
2 Melta guns
and ethier 2 of each or 4 of one choice
Bolters or CC weapons for the remainder 4 guys.

And with some luck a LRC to take them into battle. I dont have that yet.

List is totaly playable and legal

This part I was really please about as had a almost perfect cut to fit. I cut the cloth part away from the champion front and palced it to the BT torso.


Skipping ahead to arm placement for the sword arm. had to pin it which worked pretty well.

And finished pics.





I gave the champion the look as if hes about to bring down the sword with both hands, but just before he grabs it with both hands. Bolt pistol fixed to forarm and Termin sheild to act as combat shield.

If you want I can list what they all have.

I guess I did a pretty rubbish job of saving bandwidth for others.

ok well then i am going to commit to my night lords conversion... BUT!!! if i get them done there will be 2 chaos spawns too!

nuklearangel, funny thats what I called it. Me and mandark had a game with our command squads and a LR each, mine being a LRC. He killed most of my squad and tank before CC happened leaving just a melta guy, champion and the commander(substituted models not these ones) he killed off the melta guy and champ. As its a thunder hammer my commander went last. To which he proceeded to smyte him good, killing 8 of his guys over 3 rounds of CC and nearly his commander. So yes, hammer of DOOM!!!!!
