A "real" sniper fex.

I dont think that my sniper fexs look very, well, scary. They dont have the impact that I want them to have. I want them to scare people when I put them on the table. One thing that might help is if I painted them. That will be taken care of soon enough. For now I am going to convert them. I was thinking that they really need to be SNIPER fexs. So I was thinking of removing the barbed strangler and venom cannon, and making one giant gun and putting it on its back. I would then put two sets of scything talons on the arm slots. It would use the talons to brace itself. (they would be stuck in the ground) I then also thought of having flesh hooks shot into the ground in order to help stablize it. To show its enhanced senses I was going to give it a sniper eye. This eye would be large and on top of the head of the carnifex. My lsat idea would be to have some lesser tyranids have mutated ammo sacs on them for the large gun. These are just my ideas, so any ideas you all might have would be very helpful. (I would also apreciate tips on converting it.

hmm, well this is what I did for my sniper fex;

I like your idea seph, though I think that a gun on the back sounds to me more like a super biovore carnifex (someone around here has also done one of these).
What you could try is build on the sniper theme - covert the two guns into a single gun - vc on top with the bs underneath, like a grenade launcher - and then you could use some terrain; a large rock; and set-up snipy as if he is taking a shot with his gun - just an idea
also what sort of help do you need? do you have any experience with Green stuff - any images to share

Sadly, I have little experience with green stuff. Just enough to put different arms on warriors and genestealers. I like your idea. I was just thinking that the sniper fex doesn't really seem to be sniping. Something else I considered with my idea is that I could also use them for biovores. (I dont have the model)

Sorry for double posting but I also want to convert my hive tyrant and dakka fexs. I would like to have the tyrant crouching down as if he were about to take off. I bought the Balrog wings for him so if you have any ideas for this one or the dakka fexs either it would be greatly apreciated.

There is no rule against making a trygon sized carnifex.

crouching will require you to cut the legs at the joints, pin and greenstuff over - rather a major challenge with the metal hive tyrant.
If I were you I would start off by converting some warriors into a crouching position - get the feel of where you can cut on the legs and how to position them before you try with an expensive hive tyrant.
also balrog wings would work well for this - I would have them positioned upwards; so that the tyrant is ready to push them down and take wind after a mighty leap from his legs

Thats what I was goinig for. I also love the wolf with the santa hat.

Kind of like that except I was thinking of making the gun signifigantly bigger. It is supposed to be so big that he needed to be grounded to fire it. (note: the ideas with the scything talons and flesh hooks.) By the way that carnifex looks wicked.
Maybe this is too hard for my skills but I thought it would be cool and it would scare the pants off my oponents.

if you want yours to be more indivisual, then i have an idea:

1.) have its ribcage open, with say five flesh hooks sticking out.

2.) at the end of each flesh hook, (this is gonna be hard to explain) have chunks of carapace, so when the hooks hit something, theyll grab onto the surface and the hook-pace will chink together, like a puzzle, stabalizing it....the only thing i can think of that would make it easy to understand would be this: i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd265/julionicoletti217/fleshhooks.jpg
