So I took the day off work today (slacker!) and was thinking about making something out of the junk models that I have that I would never use otherwise.
It started out with the Red Terror torso, a head made from a warrior and genestealer head merged together, and some warrior scytalons. The torso is a great size and suitable for a superpowered Broodlord. But I had a problem.. no legs! I looked at standard stealer legs, but they were ridiculously wimpy. So I improvised.
Using part of the small fex scytal arm for the thigh part, and part of an old school scytalon for the lower leg, some greenstuff here and there and a groin area made from a tip of a venom cannon barrel and greenstuff, and it worked out pretty well I think! I added a tyrant lash whip as a nice tail, and an adrenal gland to fill the space a bit in the back.
The way the legs worked out was quite a weird pose, but after working with it for a while I think I came up with something fairly dynamic, and I am happy to have made myself a Broodlord out of bitz! I like the base, with the ruin being large enough to accommodate the spread leg pose.
Oh yeah, the rending claws... they were a Frankenstein mix of tyranid warrior barbed strangler feeder arms, some claw cut offs from fex scytals and the lower crushing claw part is actually the back half of a tyranid warrior headplate cut in half. I know the GS is a little messy, but I am not worried, the paintjob will hide most of the ickiness
