Sculpted Sister repentia (6 pictures)

I know it has been a bit, but i am still sculpting and thought i would share my latest one. I am very happy with it, my skill is increasing (still a long ways to go). I decided i was tired of the basic poses for sister Repentia's, so I made this one. I sculpted all of it except the hand and Eviscerator, and the face. I borrowed the face from an eldar, and re-sculpted the hair. The arms, legs use sprue carved into stick figure representations and then sculpted into the shapes you see. I have it here next to one of my real Repentia's to show the standard paint scheme in comparison. I am a little unhappy with the waist area, she is a bit chubby there, and the skirts did not come out as smooth as i had liked, still some skill to be gained in that. Arms, legs, armor, and such are coming along great. I have 8 unique to my army sculpts in my SOB's now!
Here they are, if anyone is really interested i can show the rest of the sculpts of SoB's. And yes my camera is mediocre at best, and these have been optimised and compressed.

PS: I have my exorcist in the works, and another rhino (which is the lighted one with lanterns!) completed, 2k of SoB's!

Nice! I never really liked the GW models for the Repentia either. You've got a much better looking concept here, not to mention a far better sculpt than anything I've ever managed.

Thanks westrider, it is coming along slow and takes patience. It is not as hard as it seems if you use the "thin" coatings of putty style. Meaning do not take a blob and sculpt the blob into a leg or hand etc, but build it up slowly and only the last thin layer takes on the shape and detail. I now notice I screwed my own scheme up, her arm lace should be red not pink, only the stocking are pink on my unit! Typical! With the true milliput fine instead of the rubber medium GW sells as greenstuff it is also a little easier. True milliput reacts much better to water, and lets you carve away much easier.
As a final ominous note. . to quote a very funny movie from my generation, my unit of sister's repentia now goes up to eleven--"11? you mean 10 is more powerfull then normal?
"No man, this goes up to 11."
If you get that reference. . woot.

Yeah, see, the patience thing is really the problem with me. I'm getting better about it, but I'm still not to the point where I'm willing to take the time necessary to get results like that. I've been meaning to check out Milliput for a while now, though. I'll have to up that on my priority list, see if I like working with it better.

But couldn't you just make 10 more powerful instead?

The sculpt is impressive, BUT:

a) Fluffwise:
- A battlesister shaves hes skull, when she becomes a repentia.
- The Eviscerator is supposed to be two-handed.
- Repentias don't wear armour (except for their faith).

b) The paintjob:
- much too bright and friendly for a Sister Repentia IMHO.

Thanks Sledge! if the fluff is your only complaint I am very happy! But about that:
Hehe so she missed shaving her head! Although I am not sure where it says exactly that in the fluff? Since half my Sisters Repentia that GW sculpted have braided hair coming out of their masks. . Ok, so really I just got tiredof all the stupid bondage masks and such, and wanted a more normal looking Repentia, since they are supposed to represent the Sisters who have given theirsouls over and become truly "pure" in their zeal. . not torture slaves according to the witchunters book (and personally I hate that fluff, and the whole they are being whipped along etc thing, lose the whole domination brutalization, flagellant thing IMO)
That Eviscerator IS two handed (and identical in size to the GW sculpt) she just currently has only one hand on it. Look at the extra length of handle on it! (besides, there is no way I have the skill to sculpt my own eviscerator, so had to use the oversized Sm one! Just go with it. . )
And repentia's DO wear armor, look at the repentia next to her, that IS the GW sculpt, they have chest, knee and foot armor in the GW sculpts, so I sculpted mine to be identical, go yell at GW for not sticking to their fluff. I did add/paint mine to be less naked of course, again, I find that fluff silly. And with a 4+ save they are wearing some armor.
So. . I went with the models GW put out as my guide, if you feel GW has (not uncommon here) gone against their own fluff, I understand.

My army is rose themed in its paintjob, I wanted my Repentia to fit into that, so made them more angelically pink, it is bright I know! I am just tired of all the base black armies out there right now.
