newbie needs help tooling up his warriors

i just recently bought some models and it was the battle force so now i am wondering what to equip my warriors with and how affective are they in battles?

I would check out the tactics section. What weapons to choose really depends on the battlefield role of the models, so once you've decided how they'll be used, you can figure out what payload to bring.

I have a squad of 5 that are all ST & RC, Big Genestealers with leaping and all sorts, and the others are all longer range.

The three kinds of warriors I've had success with were:

ST+RC+leaping+EC+AG(+I): the fast, deadly and durable assault.
Also a good starting conversion for your drill bits.

spinefists+scything talons: cheap synapse, the warrior version of spinegaunts.

Huntsman as in the codex, except instead of toxin sacs and adrenal glands, I ad either wings or extended carapace. They're the multi role warriors.

*IT'S A TRAP!: neither the venom cannon, nor the barbed strangler are that good on warriors, too low a strength and they miss half the time. Also, ST+a gun makes for a fairly useless warrior that can quickly become very expensive.

However, a vennom cannon on a warrior is a good addition to low point matches and is almost a must inclusion in combat patrol games, where it is the only ranged anti-tank weapon that can be used by nids (barring the strangler, but I prefer the increased shots of the vennom cannon)

as for spine fists on warriors, I would consider that a waste of a warrior - to weak to make the warrior worth even the synapse support

Out of the warriors that i have tried out my favourite yet is the Woorior as it can lay down a respectable amount of fire, however, none has yet made their points back .

The venom warrior does generaly not hit mor than once or twice but is at least capable of taking care of wave serpents and their sort.

The spinefisters sounds like a waste of points to me, but i have not tried them out...

I run two broods of CC warriors and one of shooty warriors, in my experince the CC warriors havent made any points back but lock squads down so the stealers come in ftw. Shooty warrior stay around longer cuz no one feels theatened by them, but when the enter CC there rending claws go to work, and work well. Its all about personal preference.

at the moment i have two options in my mind
all 3 have RC and SC
or
VCx1+EC
DSx2+EC
this combo i have herd is good on the tactics section of tth but im not sure and they all have sycthes but i dont know which are most effective in a 1000pt game any help clarifieying that would be nice

The gun group you have suggested is often used, and is very useful in lower point games - which is why then tend to have the scything talons, because they are cheap. In larger matches, I would say the rending claws are more useful though.
Also, deathpitters and devourers are always debated over with devoureres often winning, however I cheat
Take a devourer gun and cut of the cone end. Next, using green stuff, attach this end to the barrle of a deathspitter and there you go. A coverted gun which you can say is either a devourer or a deathspitter - save you on models, and avoids having to fiddle around with magnets - just remember which option you picked for each battle - not changing guns mid game

The thing about venom cannons is they can only glance, and if you're shooting armour, the rest of the squad is to, so most of the squad's shooting will be obsolete so that at the very most you'l get a glancing hit on a vehicle.

Also, the claws are 2 points more per model then the talons, and even against guarsmen can significantly increase their killing power.

(And the ever unpopular warrior with a barbed strangler will hit maybe once or twice a game with a strength 4 weapon, although admitedly I've been tempted to it for the pinning...)

Also, ALWAYS take EC.
Makes them twice as resilient to bolters, and fairly more resilient to anything weaker.
Also it's the easiest conversion ever.

at the moment im probably going to go with vc and spitters because most of my list is CC so i need some long range support which will be coming from 6 warriors and 2 zoanthorpes with warpblast,synapse
