Hi guys (and gals) Thought i'd start a thread on some of my modelling photos, you know swimwear, catwalk etc.......just kidding it will contain my conversions and WiP's for my hive fleet.

Still waiting on most of my stuff to arrive in the mail so watch this space. I have however just recieved my magnets so for anyone who hasent seen a rare earth magnet here they are in all their glory.



Now if anyone bothered counting them all yes there is 155 of them there! And i got them for a tidy sum aswell only AU$20.45. And those wondering on the size of em they are 6mm x 2mm. And I tell you what if there is any metal withing about half a meter they fly right to it so be carefull with these little blighters!

Will 6mmX1.5mm work? Because those are the only ones I have ever seen on ebay...not the 6mmX2mm anywhere. I just bought some of the 6mmX1.5mm and am waiting for them in the mail. I hope they work out.

Yeh they should work fine, just dont go any bigger than 6x2

Hey guys, my order finally arrived (shakes fist in rage at Australia post) So you know what that means? It means i can start this modeling blog up so without further ado, here is the base for my flyrant that is a part of my entry for this months 300pt club.



As you can see its just a piece of the crashed ship from the macragge box, I don't want to take the attention away from the model. But i have added my own little touch, magnetic rippers as a wound counter!
Its still in early stages gotta add modeling sand and green-stuff the rippers so it looks like they are on a mound of dirt and not on a magnet

Any comments or criticisms? As I said its only the early stages so I can still add stuff to it if anyone can think of anything.

Do you prime your models white?

Nope will be priming my nids black as thats what hteir primary colour will be, the stealer is white and bone because I was originally going to do a leviathan scheme. But I have since decided to do my own scheme.

Well I have almost finished one of my leaping warriors for the 300pt club, still need to add toxin sacs and adrenal gland, pose is done and extended carapace is on.
So here he is:


Not the pose I had envisioned but I am still happy with the end result, I had to cut the legs and pin them so they are extended so they look a bit more dynamic than the 'look at me ma I'm standing' legs that come with the box. Overall I am happy with the end result of my first warrior conversion, heck its the first warrior I have put together. One done Two to go!

Oh and the rending claws look a bit messy because they have recently been stripped so there is a wee bit of paint here and there, they look alot better in real life, the flash does not do them justice.

how did u strip the rending claws

Dot 4 breke fluid, left it in for aobut two days. I may end up changing the base to a nice barren base to make it look like the planet has been stripped of biomass, and thus take away the bit from the stealer sprue.
