What Warrior ability would you like to see?

Great that pts are down by about 5pts per 3 models.
However I would like to see a more favourful datasheet ability.

Purely for flavour I would like to see the abilities.
For Melee, Warriors unit allowed attached to Hormagaunts.
For Ranged, Warriors unit allowed attached to Termagants.

Increase in toughness, ballistic skill, and saves. Warriors shouldn't die easily to every gun in the game.

You may be on the right track, with more wounds. I can live with the 4+ save, as I feel living armour should not be as hard compared to strap on sheets of metal. But the tyanids should be able to functions with missing limbs, even heads, like insects on earth.

However I don't want to see a repeat 5th edition with multi-wound models, being all your eggs in one basket. With Raveners and Warriors units being nullified with Power Klaws, Power Fist, Krak grenades, due to the Instant Death rule if Strength of weapon x2 Toughness. In 10th there are more multiwound weapons, to dish out the equivalent of Insta-Gibb.

Also I don't really like the abilities that boost a model's statistic. What is the point of those, instead just give the model better stats in the first place. I prefer the abilities to add flavour with a tactical or strategic advantage.

Warriors are supposed to be the better of space marines, they should be starkly different in stats.

7"M T5 (or 6 if you take extended carapace... if it existed) with 5+w and a 4+, 3+bs if ranged and 3+ws if melee.

If a Hive Tyrant exists on the field, units within their synapse and they themselves are immune to battleshock.

Ranged units should be able to remove their melee weapon for a small frame ranged weapon (devourer, spinefist), allowing for loadouts that can deal with multiple situations. if the small weapon frames are the same, the weapons gain twin linked.

Melee units should be allowed to fight with BOTH weapon pairs, if both sets are the same, it should be given reroll hit rolls.

Feel no pain would be a nice buff. Mediocre save is probably where it should be. Toughness and Wounds are in line with tradition but not the games newer sensibilities. FNP 5+ would keep them around after Damage 3. Would feel more flavorful than Gravis warriors.

To me, the number 1 problem with them is the poor attack stats. The 3+ BS on ranged and 3+ WS on melee is the most important change they could get.
On top of that, if we could split them up to escort terms, horms, etc then it would be flavorful and wonderful.

Having them required to be in a unit together just seems weird.

HWT Warrior squads? with twin linked on their weapon profile perhaps?

Also give them flat Shot cannons variants, that have better AP.

Warriors should be both WS/BS 3+ for sure, they're purpose bred combat forms and exist fully for combat so their skill should reflect that without going too over the board because 2+ should be saved for hero units and the like. After that I think the only thing holding warriors back is lack of D2 weapons, in both the shooting and melee flavor of Warrior should have access to Anti-infantry, Anti-elite & Anti-tank weapons. I don't believe they should be a 1 in 3 takes a heavy weapon" unit because as units of 3-6 they're small specialized elite units so should get wargear similar to what other armies have. Heck not like there aren't already weapons that match exactly that, Melee warriors with dual scythes get more attacks but lower S and AP for infantry, dual swords & claws for fewer attacks with better AP and D2, then finally crushing claw warriors for even less high S/AP attacks. Give them a special ability tied to their weapons, with how few special their are its even easier; Scythes get sustained hits, swords/claws get lethal hits and crushers get devastating wounds so they're even more themed against their designated targets. Shooting warriors are a much easier fix, simply give deathspitters 2D each so they're on par with heavy bolters/shuriken cannons and let warrior broods take 3 big guns but make them slower and more expensive than normal ones. Shooting warriors for sure need a better special, I have no idea why GW gave them the fall back and attack one, they're not fast cavalry! It should be along the lines of suppressing shots like the "-1 to hit after the unit gets targeted" to resemble to old pinning.

I feel okay with Warriors having WS4 BS4, provided number of attacks is high. A flurry of attacks feels more thematic than accuracy. Accurate attacks should be for our assassin bugs.

Both melee and ranged warriors are WS3+. Ranged getting bumped to BS3+ would be a nice QoL that wouldn’t really affect the unit terribly much (so no potential balance break).

I think I’d like to see them leading the swarm units as well, melee leading Horms and ranged leading Terms. Would be nice to have a way to send the swarms out further without needing a Neurotyrant.

Having not played in this edition (/some years) it feels like their shooting is very bad and the "ranged" variant isn't good in melee.
Gone are the days with cool and effective boneswords and shorter ranged heavy bolters with Death Spitters.
I really dislike the split profile and the reduced number of models in each unit.
Not to mention; Fewer models fit in our drop pod and the removal of the (wingless) prime.
I'd like to see more options for the primes (like Crushing Claws and psychic upgrades) and perhaps that they could be attached to different units.

The barbed heirodule has that ability unfortunately.

Venom cannons should do what blast does, but worded into the weapon instead of using the keyword so its still viable to use against heavy targets like monsters and vehicles in combat.

Barbed Stranglers should have torrent or anti infantry 3+.

So weird to have that ability on the barbed heirodule... after reading other indexes and codexes turns out there are a lot of cool rules we could make use of and would make sense but they're just not in the codex which is sad. Like the special rule "After this unit hits a target, all other shots at this target treat their AP as -1 better than it is" rule, like... we have straight up acid guns, that rule would make complete sense for our acid units to melt off armor! Give something like that to deathspitters would be nice to show off them shooting acid maggots instead of just 'D3 blast'

I agree with venom cannons, they shouldn't not be able to shoot in combat it's so annoying, turns out Guard Leman russes get that special rule on all their siege variants. Demolisher and Nova cannon and fire into combat, must be nice.
