I am having great luck with a list very close to the one below. Am having a 90% win rate at my locals, went 4 and 1 at my local ITC tournament, even though this is clearly not an ITC list. (magic boxes are a pain)

This version I have traded up an Exorcine and an adrenal gland on each tyrant for an Acid Spray Tyranofex.

T8, 2+ save 14 wounds, potentially with a 5+++ that has to be dealt with, that are also the cheapest wounds in my list, that is also the biggest potential damage dealer in my list and it fills a role against minus to hit shenanigans and has a very decent overwatch. + Stinger Salvo is not nothing. up to 8 str5 ap -1 shots is not to be sneezed at.

What do you think, 2 exorcines and each tyrant with adrenal glands or the list below with the Tyrannofex?

How do you find the range on the acid spray to be? Seems that it will be a pain to use and will rarely get to shoot turn 1.

Not sure what you expect the Acidfex to do, but it's good against Flyers. Unless, of course, it gets deleted or damaged in the first turn (with low S it's pretty useless against T7 Flyers). I like it and use one in my Beerzilla tournament list, but that's Kraken to advance turn 1 for a good central position.

I usually field two. In my experience, the opponent fears them and kills them or drop them in their last wounds in turn one (usually they don't get anything else so rest of my army is fine). Any "I know what they do to my fliers" generals keeps their flyers afar so they inflict little damage.
Any "cute lil'buggers" generals fly within 18" and usually target my swarmy etc.so cries echo in the gaming halls when my turn starts, like "how many automatic hits?! Strength/Ap/dam.what?!". 
Then there are "got to get within 15" to rapid fire my plasmas etc. Or Some cc unit tries to charge (it happens). Even knights  too have had second thoughts after charge (even more when the charge fails..). 

Yeah, there are times when they dont get to shoot at all (rarely in my games) but their threat range is 24" and 2D6 autohitting big flamer does damage. Next thing happens to me a lot. I don't usually guard them a lot (my list lacks screening units) so every ds unit likes to boogie with them shooting and/or charging. Some times they manage to inflict major damage but usually tfexes lives on. And majority of the enemy units are T4 or similar so still wounding them on 3+. So usually they have more than enough targets. 
They manage to do something in the cc (but I usually keep something killy with them). Allthough, smash captains or similar units are annoying as (please do not swear) and bane of acidfexes.

Blackjack, what warlord traits do you use? Insidious Threat seems like a good choice.

I also use 2 Acidfexes to great effect. I support them in a Nidzilla list with Jorm and -1 Hit. I like that they are effective against a variety of targets as opposed to Rupture Cannons that don't do work once tough targets are gone.
