I understand Tyranid Warriors are bad but..

Why are they bad? could some one explain it to me please. Like would a blob of 9 warriors with deathspitters be bad? as a shooty unit. Is it jsut the fact that hive guard are better?

They are not bad per se, but other things are better for most duties/points. Want to shoot a lot of shots? Devgaunts! Want to fight like a boss? Genestealers! Want to kill Big stuff? Hiveguards!

There are list builds where people make them work for a specifik role but they are not ”plug-and-play” like the above mentioned units.

I tried them as bodyguards för the heavy hitters with a Leviathan fleet for synapse/6+ fnp to everything around.

They did there job and looked cool but I Could Not get rid of the feeling that more Genestealers would have been better...

It's not so much that they are bad, as it is their buff character costs 30'ish more points than he should. Running warrior gunlines would be a lot easier to warm up to if primes ran for 60-75 points and could access half the artifacts in the codex, or at least MRC instead of RC.

If gw changed the warrior statline to have that 3+ shooting, warriors would be much less reliant on overpriced/bad HQs, and a little more popular in general.

It's also important to point out from a raw stats point of view, warriors need to both shoot AND charge into melee to be worth their points when compared to equivalent points of devilgants or genestealers in a single turn. It helps they're a lot hardier than either though so they make back points over a few turns, they do well for long term strategies or area denial strategies.

Warriors aren't bad. In fact, they are quite good. But you have to build your list around them to make them good and soon as you start to go down that road you realize we have other options that are far more points efficient. Warriors are good in combat and can be quite good at shooting and they survive reasonably well. They aren't meat grinders in combat like genestealers, they don't shoot as well as hive guard or exocrines, and they don't survive as well tyrants. I think you can begin to see the problem when you look at it that way.

I just realized that poison rending claw warriors will both poison and rend on a 5+ if near a prime. Food for thought...

No. The prime buffs to-hot-rolls. Poison and rending happens on the to-wound-roll.

Warriors toting Deathspitters and Boneswords make a good mid-field anchor. I'm drowning in Warriors so I try to squeeze in at least a full squad.

Every time I've run them the opponent claimed they were "overpowered" and "wow you said these guys are bad?"... so I must be doing *something* right?

Fleshhooks are neat, but I haven't run them yet. An extra ?2? Bolter shots in shooting/melee seems worth it for 2 points.

Back in the good ol days when you can deep strike anywhere turn 1 I would play Jorm make a prime warlord give him and other warriors around ignore cover (warlord trait). It was a nice fire base heavy bolter shots anywhere on the board (with ravaner transport) ignoring cover was pretty good. Now walking up field I think they are way to slow and waiting for turn 2 is not worth it at least for me.

I'm sorry but wha...? I can understand people complaining about Zoeys being hard to kill and Flyrants being stupid hard to kill, or Genestealers, etc etc etc... but Warriors are OP?

I explain to them that I had to pay 100+ points to make them BS3+ and that they are only armor 4+. I then explain to them that firing D6 damage anti-tank weapons into -1 to hit spore cover, 3+ cover save, and 6+ FNP Warrior blob is generally not the most efficient thing.

I've had both situations occur: the opponent(s) focus on the other "scary" components of my army leaving the giant, buffed 18 Warrior blob murder (please do not swear) from mid-field ... or ... focus the Warrior blob ineffectually while my Fexes/Genestealers/DevilGant Bomb happily consume their salty biomass

Warriors are good, they just aren't great. It all depends on what your baseline for bad is. If your baseline for bad is that they are not absolutely optimal then they are bad, but they pull their weight, provide synapse, are reasonably durable, and are a significant threat in both melee and ranged.

Warriors are not bad anymore, they just aren't specialists.

With deathspitters they are one of our best small arms units, but devilgaunts shoot better.

With boneswords they are one of our best melee units, but stealers melee better.

Warriors can do both at the same time, and can absorb more fire, and provide synapse. Not everyone's cup of tea, but still a solid unit.

To be fair.... everyone is better than marines this edition so far. Even the special snowflake marines are better than normal marines. 

Warriors ARE also better than Marines bodies this edition. So... they have fair points I guess? Just over-reacting like heck.

they're not awful, they're just not a stand out unit. stealers or HG are so much better at their individual roles, where warriors can do ok at shooting or CC instead of excelling at either. it wouldn't take a lot to make them excellent.

the prime needs a serious points drop or a serious power boost to make it worth its points.
