Got a general question for the competitive players here, what match-ups have you found to be the more challenging for us? I've had some pretty good success with Nids so far, I'm 6-2-1 WLD with the new codex in tournament format games, but I just got absolutely blasted last night by an Alpha Legion list. Long story short, he placed Nurglings to stop Meiotic spores from interfering with his shenanigans, then infiltrated 19 Noise Marines turn 1 after going first, then cast prescience from out of denial range and popped Veterans before shooting them twice. LOS blocking terrain was not sufficient and it was a shallow deployment so he was in range of everything. The Noise Marines alone picked up 6 Hive Guard and an Exocrine turn 1, and it went downhill from there since he followed that up with 6 Oblits and a zerker charge to pick up 2 units of gants. His second Noise Marine unit frankly didnt even have a target by the time he got to shooting them. As much as dice were against me, it is still not a good matchup for a standard Nid list. Noise marines are really, really good at killing Jormungandr units. This isn't as much to complain about Alpha Legion though, more just a wake up call of what can happen when they go first. But, as thoroughly unenjoyable as it was, I'm wondering what other bad match-ups people have had with the codex where your lists and not dice or tactical blunders contributed heavily to your downfall. Given how fast Noise Marines can kill any horde style army on the board when they go first and get all buffs up, I'd definitely put AL noise marine spam on the list.
TL;DR: Going second against alpha legion noise marines sucks. What else is a bad matchup for us to be aware of?
