You may have missed the point. The point is that your proposed additions aren't contributing a lot to the army as a whole when you throw all that junk on the Tervigon, because the Tervigon cant do much more with it than just "exist" in that space.
The genestealers and SL comments are your lost opportunity costs for throwing Catalyst and the Warlord trait on the T-gon.
Its 90 points you have to spend and keep near a bullet magnet that doesnt really attract bullets, with 3" aura i dont think that malanthrope is reaching very far away from it. Plus, synapse redundant so you paid the full 90 for a 3" -1to hit. Its just inefficient compared to say, maly in a Exo+HG+biovore nest. Or even just a nest of biovores in Tervigon equiv points.
Of course i like big things on central objectives, as long as they do other things too. Like the Exocrine(s), for example. Or a Heirodule, which used to define the Trapdoor Spider. Or hell, even a Necron Spyder that does the same and can hide in ground floors but doesnt cost 250 points.
Your catalyst can only be given to 1 unit at a time. If its on the Tervigon, its not on anyone else - which is why it is an opportunity cost. Which is my point, i could cast it on anyone else why on the tervigon? Just to make it harder to kill when my opponents can shoot something else that does more threat to him?
Come on man.
