How do Twin linked devourers work in 8th?

so it says that it is assault 3. Is that for one or is it for both of them? When you look at the wargear list it counts 2 as one weapon. Either way it seems like you only get 6 shots. What happened to getting double shots? Shouldnt we get 24 lol? One more thing. Spinefists didnt get double attacks either ao what is the point of taking them?

When you pick them for a Hive Tyrant or Carnifex each choice is a pair. So you have two devourers with 3 shots each, and pay 2 x 7pts. You can take up to two pairs, giving 12 shots and costing 4 x 7 = 28pts for devourers or 4 x 10 = 40pts for deathspitters. As there's no more restrictions on how many weapons a single model can fire per turn, you can use all four of these weapons at once.

Twin-linked is no longer a thing however, so there's no more re-rolls.

Twin Devourers already had double shots over a regular devourer, so in this case it was a slight nerf by losing Twin-Link. However, on the flip side, you'll notice the twin Deathspitter effectively did double in shots

Spinefists are pistols and can be shot in melee and that would be the reason to take them.

Termagant: 1 shots
Warrior: 3 shots
Shrike: 3 shots
Ravener: 4 shots
Prime: 4 shots

Correct, its a wee bit confusing since the model is technically a pair but think of it like the paired melee weapons. if you look at the front of the Tyranids section in the index, the wargear option spells this out a bit more, the only unique weapons are the Devourer / Deathspitter stating that there are two of them.

It is the only weapon in the game, that I found, that was a twin-linked weapon in 7th and HASN'T had its shots doubled in 8th. Go Nids!

The book doesn't say that. Sure there's physically two on the model, but the wargear options don't say they come as a pair like they do with MC Devourers / Deathspitters.

If Spinefists lose it twinlinked and still wield two pistols. I would double it. In spinefists weapon sheet don't say 'pistols'
