Help with converting Imperial guardsmen to Chaos Cultists

i had this idea that maybe IG could be corrupted and become cultists and i think they would make some interesting cultists and add variety to my army. 

my plan us to buy a box and then buy some special parts from puppetswar.

that is what i plan on using for the cc weapons my two main questions are
1 would i be able to attach those hands to the guardsmen with minimal sculpting( since im a noob)
2 does the kit come with enough bolt pistols or do i need to buy some?

(Haven't seen the kit in person, but having a look at the sprue on GW's website):

1. Shouldn't be too difficult - the difficulty might be in getting a decent looking pose, but it looks like it should be OK.
2. Only 2 - you can convert lasguns into laspistols (I've converted a bunch of neophytes into acolytes doing this) - the issue is that they hold their guns across their chest, which'd likely look odd with a pistol, and possibly get in the way of other stuff (I got around this with the neos using left/right arm combinations, which isn't an option for IG).

Other ideas would be to use pistol/cc weapon chaos cultists (works quite well), or catachans (I don't think they've got the best sculpts, but the posing should be easier for a cc squad, and they come with some cc weapons as well).

Ok I dont want to make another board i just had an idea of making a squad of Cultists with Slipknot masks I dont know how to sculpt and i doubt i would find resin molds for them unfortunately. I will check out converting catachans because they actually look pretty cool.

Isn't there an official upgrade sprue coming out very soon, with replacement heads and iconography for converting guardsmen?

(Something that I missed too ) - Chaos cultists, not GSC Cultists . It's also just for converting to neos, so doesn't get around any of the issues with cc weapons/pistols that the OP was asking about.
