How does the Cult Insurrection Detachment work?

I just wanted to check this, but lets say i take the Subterranian uprising in the CID. Do those models get the same benefits as if i took the it outside of the CID? So would they have to infiltrate and roll 2 dice?

They would gain shrouded in the CID (for having infiltrate via sub up) and retain the two dice rolls.

Yes, each of the component-formations in a composite-formation detachment continues to give the formation's specific benefits, as well as (assuming no unbound units ruining the deal) the composite-formation detachment's overarching benefits. Not just for the GSC, but for every army that GW has cared to write up a composite-formation detachment for.

And yes, "composite-formation detachment" is my own term for the "Decurion-style detachment" format which GW has never properly named.

Detachment. Isn't that the proper name? Matchless agility detachment, cult Insurrection Detachment, Decurion Detachment?

Formations benefit themselves whereas detachments benefit each formation in it.

Technically, each Formation is a Detachment unto itself, if you're not using the full composite-formation detachment.

So if you're playing Skyblight + Subterranean Uprising, that's two Detachments. But if you're playing Skyblight + Brood Cycle + Subterranean Uprising, that's also two Detachments, because the Core + Auxiliary both get folded into the "decurion-style" Detachment.
