Need GSC help for Tournament this Weekend

I just got the models to run three different list and I am now tore on what to run.

I was thinking of running a Tyranid+GSC list but I can now run a Pure GSC list.

I am looking for feed back on the first list But will welcome thoughts on the other list.

The list are focused on the GSC strength in combat and getting there. I am not looking for 1st turn combat. If I get that is a bouns. I am looking at hitting turn 2 with the pure GSC list. For me this army is about combat and surviving it. Then leaving and coming back with more friends and doing it over.

SO please thoughts and C&C please.

Just a quick observation one of the first curse will have to be run outside the detatchment on the first list. Can only have 1 of each hq.

Right you just swap the Patty's and both units have shrouded first turn.

where is your anti-tank? Unless you're not expecting Knights and other SuperHeavies at all. Your FC is not going to be the reliable tool to deal with it.

In what way FC unit will kill a knight very easily. As for mass rhinos. They can be a issues but rending works well on killing them in the past.

What Anti tank are you saying to consider?

Which list as two of the list have Tyrants which are anti tank in my mind.

for light transports like Rhinos, rending claws and Flyrants are good enough to deal with it. You're covered well enough here to do some work at least.

AV13+, you're not very well covered. 3+ on a rending roll is not reliable. First Curse having all 20 men alive to make the charge is not reliable. First Curse being able to CA and come straight to combat is EXTREMELY unreliable. If you take averages to be an absolute you're not going to have a good tournament, unless your tournament is a bunch of soft fluff lists that arent optimized.

At least have a few dedicated Clawed Metamorphs which can deal with AV13 easier, or some Saws in your Acolyte units to always be a threat to any heavy AV that gets brought in. The Claw'ed Metamorphs also have the benefit of being able to kill MCs the best in this army, so it's a win win situation for you.

Like mentioned already, FC will barely scratch a Knight to death on completely average rolls - it will fluctuate between 0-1HP left, and that's before taking into account a very slight variance in number of hits or models. A little bit off and it doesnt kill a Knight, and you lose a big chunk to stomps. Next turn your ability to kill the Knight takes a 50% beating or more - you might not be able to kill it if you fail again.

You can bring 40 Genestealers to make sure it works, but seriously if you're pumping that much points into it there's probably a lot of other (please do not swear) you could bring instead.

I can see I should have said I have a few saws for summoned unit but I don't see putting them in to a unit as the cost take away from the amount of bodies I can take in the list.

I am not fishing for a 6 in this list I am looking at a beta strike. If I get a 6 then great if not I weather the attack then hit next turn.

For my meta I will not face a lot of MC innless they are flyrants and these is not much I can do to them.

AV 13 or 14 is not seen in the area here very much in less it is a IK army. I am not worried about 3 to 5 knights as they are going to have a hard time killing everything off in 5 to 7 rounds.

AV 13 or 14 I don't worry about shooting ever. the army doesn't have a good option for handling them endless you take the IG options in to it.

The local guy run three with riptide wing. I ignore the IK normally and kill the riptides when I play him. I play to the mission and sacrifice unit as needed.

Which of the 3 list do you feel has the best chance competitively?

Honestly speaking, the 2 Flyrants + CI detachment. It covers your bases for ITC better than the other two. There are also more bodies to play with.

In my meta, the 3 Flyrants + SU are better. I'm surprised that 3 Knights aren't able to kill enough units, local 3 Knights and my frequent opponent does rather well against GSC with them *considering he has to feed 1 to the grinder at the start of the turn*, since Triple Warden + Stomps = many dead tshirts. Without any objectives to fight for pre T5, having more shirts don't help unless those shirts are killing things.

I like the two tyrant list myself, but I am going to try the First list since we have been having a interesting debate one the use of genestealer unit size's. I am now really interested in if the list will work. That and I have the models to do it. LOL

I went with the first list and won the Local RTT. I tied for first place vs a different GSC player. Our battle for the top spot ended in a Tie. LOL

Glad to hear it did well. This army is deceptive in the sense that kiting helps remove the need for fighting certain units. Such a multi-tool army..

I don't even bother when I have faced 1 Knight or LR. I can see multiples being harder to counter but Knights aren't really that shooty. They can blender my 45-100 point squads all they want too.

3 Knights are plenty shooty. 36 shots at BS4 and BS5, stubbers + headweapons, flamers, and finally charge for stomping.

The other two aren't really scary, but the Warden is scary as all heck.

The warden ae the best of the shoot knight for the good guys. The Renegade Knights can have double the shooting and they are scary.

For the most part you can Ignore one IK and focus on the other guys army. When there is more of them then you may have to kill one of them to some extent

I am enjoying the Pure GSC list a lot. You get so many wounds for the cost of a Flyrant it is crazy.

I am looking at dropping some stealers to give me the extra points to get the Sup-Up Meta's up to 9 to 10 man and a banner. That way I can take full advantage of the bonus's for that unit. as it stands now it dies to easily with just 5 guys.

I may drop the Primus out right if I can come up with the models do buff out other units as well.

It been a hoot playing these guys so far. I been playing space wolves al year and I been having more fun with the GSC over the last moth than I did al year with the others.

It been very satisficing.

How did "The First Curse" Perform? I run GSC with IG allies at 1500 and I am trying to decide if the formation is worth all those points.
