Using the Cult Formation

Just got me the Cult models and ive been thinking about lists that could work with them, here's one i was thinking of.

Well, it's got a thing going. And MSU stealers is probably the best way to use them. So, with that, I'd really recommend dropping the zoan (I'm...not even sure why it's there in the first place?). Also, probably the muco and rippers, since the first isn't really worth it on its own, and the function of the second should (hopefully) be performed by the stealers/lictors. And then grab a min stealer brood in the CAD.

And/or also fiddle with the troops stealer broods. I'm...not entirely sure how you've set it out there, but CoC need to have scything talons on every genestealer, but not the broodlord. And I'd never take a broodlord without scy tals (second squad) - 4 pts for +1 attack? Done. TS for almost-shred on the non-CoC broodlord is probably a good idea as well.

Two problems: flamers and Imperial Knights. You can't deal with either. Take LoW back out of 40K and this would have a shot. Without it, you are really going to struggle.

Also, how do you plan on deploying? You have a lot of units with infiltrate.

If you were planning on infiltrating a majority of those units. You may have a hard time finding useful places to actually infiltrate.

I played a game where I was infiltrating 2 MSUS genestealers w/brood lords plus a brood of 3 lictors. My opponent had 1 MSU unit he was infiltrating. Finding a spot for my second GS squad was tough. Ended up essentially just deploying them in my own zone as it was.

I was thinking Stealers would be good for dealing with armor, lots of attacks with rending should see a Knight dead pretty fast.

We play with a lot of cover in my Area, the manufactorun stealers, The princelings, Ghosar and Deathleaper can deploy really close, regardless of distance, the rest of the army is coming in fast to provide pressure.
My area doesnt use flamers much, is mostly bikes with grav and melta, Eldar and demons.

I thought to just hide the Zoa in the back on my objective guarding the Rippers, both are small enough they should be able to hide pretty easely, and he adds more dice to the pool

Im trying to find a use for the 60 Stealers i own : )

Needing to Rend and hit a 3 on the D3 makes getting glances with Stealers against Knights a bit tough, I'd imagine. Doable en masse if they make it into combat, but tough.

As above, nope. You need ~27 attacks per hp. In other words, I think it's 162 attacks to take out a knight. When you consider that stomp will brutally murder them...

Why are they there in the first place? Rippers don't need baby sitting, and are basically useless unless they're deep striking for objectives (in which case, they're not going to be in the backfield). 2 extra charges...I suppose with the cult it might be worth it, but I doubt it - invis isn't a guaranteed thing, and you'd have 6+d6 for that anyway. The rest of the stuff is WC1 and usually not worth it.

It's not a bad use for them - this is probably the best way to use them. You've just got to accept that there's going to be a lot of things that you won't be able to deal with, and be very focused on objectives as well.

Cut the fat and squeeze in a dimachaeron. I think of it as a giant lictor/stealer personally.
