Curse of the Wulfen.
All non-vehicle models within 6" is affected. For Blood/Sky/swift claws it is 12", for Long Fangs it is 3".
Wulfen, Servitors and units that starts in a transport are not affected.
At the start of the player turn, roll a single dice for all units. The effect lasts until your next player round.
Units outside of combat gains the Hunt tables effect, units in combat gains the Kill effect.
Hunt
1-3: re-rolls failed charges and... Smashdown? Don't know. EDIT: Just read a translation that said it was Hamer of Wrath, which makes more sense.
4-5: Add 3" when you move, run or charge. Basically dunestrider.
6: All models gain Furios Charge and gains 1d3 attacks for charging, unless they have Rage.
Kill:
1-4: +1 initiative.
4-5: Re-rolls to wound.
6: If killed, you may attack before being removed, even if you already fought in an earlier Initiative step.
I get livid when people tell me, "IB isn't so bad". After dex first came out I bet a player I could kill more models in my all non-synapse list than he could. We called the came in turn 3. He lost the bet badly.
The current envision of IB can rot, it was one fo the first things that really gave me pause when first reading our new dex. I use to run 2-3 broods of 20 horms, get them up the board with synapse and then release them and let them rage all over the place, the rule is just terrible, a massive weight that limits how I build my lists. And I get it, its a massive part of nid fluff being brought to the table top, but in its current form its absolutely terrible. What about the nids blown in half killing guardsmen because they don't know half of themselves are missing, or nids completely a-flame and just not giving a (please do not swear). OH OH, lictors being deadly in the books. A carnifex with no head that keeps on killing until its body realizes...huh...I'm dead aren't I.. I could keep going
I think a more realistic representation of Synapse would be EW on Synapse creatures, and some kind of a FNP save for units within Synapse range, they they let me buy Synapse wide aura of preferred enemy emanated from all my synapse creatures for say 40pnts I wouldn't say its unrealistic. The Hive Mind in all its wisdom is leaning back in its chair thinking...yeah yeah..orks..been here before. The sad thing is any ideas I have that would bring a rule or unit up to speed when compared to the GW standard for nids would be considered fanboyish by those that don't play nids, or do not know much about the codex. The leap would be substantial.
